ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for an experienced Learning & Development Manager to lead the design and delivery of our management and senior leadership development strategy. This role will build a strong internal leadership pipeline, elevate management capability across our salons and support teams, and drive a high-performance, values-led culture as we scale.
Reporting to the Head of Talent Development, you’ll shape leadership frameworks, succession planning, and development programmes while mentoring Area Training Partners and partnering with senior stakeholders to ensure learning drives real commercial impact.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and implement a comprehensive management and senior leadership development strategy aligned to Townhouse growth plans
- Own and evolve the leadership competency framework for Shift Leaders, Salon Managers and Area Managers
- Develop structured development programmes for first-time managers through to senior operational leaders
- Build clear, scalable career pathways to support internal progression and succession planning
- Design and facilitate senior leadership workshops focused on commercial leadership, performance, strategic thinking, change and coaching
- Provide coaching and development support to senior managers and high-potential talent
- Oversee end-to-end design of blended learning solutions, including workshops, digital and peer learning
- Ensure programmes are operationally practical and commercially relevant for multi-site environments
- Build internal facilitation capability and drive consistency in training standards across locations
- Define and track leadership development KPIs, using data to measure impact, ROI and continuous improvement
- Present regular insight and impact reporting to the Head of Talent Development and senior leadership
- Embed a culture of feedback, coaching and continuous development aligned to Townhouse values
ABOUT YOU
- Proven experience designing and delivering management and leadership development programmes
- Strong facilitation skills with experience working at senior leadership level
- Experience coaching senior managers and high-potential talent
- Commercially minded, with a strong understanding of operational business environments
- Confident using data and insights to measure learning impact and drive improvements
- Able to influence and build credibility with senior stakeholders
- Experience in a multi-site retail, hospitality or service-led environment (desirable)
- Coaching qualification (ILM, ICF, CIPD L&D or similar) is advantageous
- Experience working with LMS or digital learning platforms is beneficial
LOCATION
This is a full-time, permanent role based at our Support Centre in Central London, and we offer a hybrid working model, aligned with role requirements.
