Job Description
The Heathrow Academy, through a range of inspiring experiences and tailored support to ensure inclusivity, excites individuals about jobs and careers, equips them with essential skills and employability know-how to support them on their career journey.
We are seeking two individuals; one with a focus on delivering a programme aimed at supporting young people, and the other to deliver programmes that support colleagues and job seekers. Both aim to help individuals make informed choices about their careers.
These roles play a crucial part in building an inclusive pipeline of talent and skills for jobs and careers with Heathrow and Team Heathrow, by raising awareness of opportunities and developing skills and confidence through engaging work experiences and related activities.
Your role will involve
- Designing high-impact and inclusive programmes in collaboration with stakeholders that support young people, colleagues or job seekers to make informed decisions about their future career path and builds a talent pipeline for Heathrow and Team Heathrow
- Leading a delivery team to be high performing ensuring the smooth execution of the careers and employability programme
- Managing the annual calendar of events, ensuring timely planning, coordination, and execution
- Establishing and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders in the education and employment sectors, including colleges, community organisations, Jobcentre Plus, Team Heathrow partners, and internal teams
- Analyse data to produce regular impact reports that demonstrate programme outcomes and inform continuous improvement
- Creating journey maps for various customer groups and establish referral pathways or signposting to other services where relevant to provide comprehensive support. This may include areas such as recruitment, early careers, and apprenticeships
These Skills Are Essential
- Experience in programme design and delivery within education, employability, or community engagement settings.
- Effective communicator with the ability to engage, influence, build and maintain effective relationships
- Able to demonstrate experience of effective planning, organisational and project management skills, with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Leading teams to be high performing through coaching and setting clear performance goals
- Knowledge and application of UK education, employment and skills policy, funding streams and relevant frameworks
- Ability to travel extensively in Heathrow’s local communities including occasional national travel

Working Location
Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow . Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You’ll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
