PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Associate L&D Specialist supports the design, delivery, and evaluation of engaging training programs that strengthen team member skills, boost leadership capability, and support our restaurant operations. The position plays a key role in helping our people succeed—from onboarding new hires to developing future leaders.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist People & Culture, Operations, and other teams in gathering input and identifying learning needs across restaurants and support functions.
- Contribute to the design and delivery of e-learnings, virtual webinars, on-the-job training, and job aids, ensuring materials are practical and engaging.
- Draft and refresh field-facing training resources—such as job aids and e-learning modules—adapting global content to meet local needs.
- Provide administrative and coordination support for leadership programs and help share coaching resources with restaurant and franchise leaders.
- Coordinate and occasionally help facilitate new Team Member and Franchisee onboarding sessions to foster a smooth start and positive first impression.
- Collect feedback, compile performance metrics, and help evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
- Update content in the Learning Management System (LMS) and assist with basic troubleshooting or communicate issues to technical support.
- Keep an eye on new learning tools, hospitality trends, and best practices to suggest fresh ideas for improving programs.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIRED
- Education/Certifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, adult learning, or a related field (or equivalent academic background).

- Experience leading classrooms, workshops, or tutoring sessions that demonstrate the ability to engage adult and diverse audiences
- Skill at creating lesson plans, learning activities, or digital resources—ready to translate these into corporate training programs and materials
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, familiar with educational tech or learning platforms (e.g., LMS, virtual classrooms) and eager to expand into corporate tools like Articulate Storyline 360 and Vyond)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT)
- Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational and project management abilities, with an eye for detail
- Genuine enthusiasm for helping adults grow their skills and careers
- We’d prefer this role to have…
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French (Canadian)
- Prior experience – including through summer jobs, internships, or volunteer work - in hospitality, restaurants, retail, or other customer-service settings
