The Role
We are currently searching for a
Senior Director, People & Culture, reporting to the Senior Vice-President, People & Culture. This is a
full-time, permanent opportunity. As a key member of the senior leadership team, the Senior Director, People & Culture will shape and drive the organization’s people strategy to enable long-term growth and performance. This role provides strategic leadership across all facets of the People & Culture function including organizational design, workforce planning, talent acquisition, learning & development, and HR operations. The Senior Director will partner closely with executives and business leaders to align people strategies with business priorities, build leadership capability, and foster a high-performing, inclusive, and purpose-driven culture. Acting as a trusted advisor, this role will champion programs and practices that attract, engage, and retain top talent while reinforcing the organization’s values and strategic direction.
Location
Our Corporate Office is located in Bolton, ON. We offer a hybrid work model with visits into the office a minimum of three times per week and on an as-needed basis depending on the role and function.
What You'll Be Doing
- Shape and execute a progressive People & Culture strategy that aligns with business objectives and positions the organization as a leading employer of choice
- Advise and influence the executive team on organizational design, workforce planning, talent strategy, and change management to drive agility and growth
- Lead culture transformation initiatives that strengthen engagement, innovation, inclusion, and a shared sense of purpose across all levels of the organization
- Champion leadership and talent development, fostering high-performing teams and building robust succession pipelines for critical and emerging roles
- Drive a best-in-class employee experience by designing programs that enhance well-being, connection, and belonging, and by translating engagement insights into meaningful action
- Embed diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) principles into every stage of the employee lifecycle, ensuring equitable access to opportunity and measurable progress
- Provide strategic guidance on employee relations within the non-union environment, fostering a culture of fairness, accountability, and open communication
- Oversee the full talent lifecycle including attraction, onboarding, performance, and development, using data and analytics to inform decisions and outcomes
- Ensure operational excellence and compliance across HR systems, policies, budgets, and programs, maintaining integrity with all legislative and regulatory standards
- Act as a trusted advisor and cultural ambassador, modeling the organization’s values and inspiring collaboration, transparency, and organizational excellence
- Perform other related duties and projects as assigned
Who You Are - Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or Business Administration discipline
- MBA with a focus on HR or Strategic Leadership would be an asset
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or Certified Human Resources Leader designation
- Certification in any of the following would be an asset: Change Management, Coaching and/or Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Organizational Leadership, Adult Learning, Facilitation or Behavioral Assessment
Experience
- 10+ years of work experience within the HR environment, with a focus on talent acquisition, performance management, learning and development
- 5+ years in a senior leadership role, ideally as a director where you have influenced organizational strategy and culture
- Experience with organizational design, change management, and workforce planning, leading initiatives that shaped or transformed workplace culture
- Designed and implemented programs that foster employee engagement, well-being and inclusion
- Hands-on leadership of DEI strategies and programs with a track record of embedding inclusive practices into recruitment, development and policy frameworks
- Oversight of HR Operations including compliance, policy development and HRIS systems
- Managed budgets, vendor relationships and cross-functional teams
- Strong experience in coaching leaders to drive alignment between people and business goals, resolving complex employee relations issues and building trust across all levels of an organization
- SAP / Success Factors experience would be an asset
