Summary of the Role
Reporting to the Team Leader, Learning and Development, the Learning & Development Advisor will take the lead on the planning, design and implementation of new learning programs to support the organization in meeting its Business Strategy while maintaining current learning modules.
What will you be responsible for?
This position will be dedicated to testing and upgrading our current e-learning modules for system and software compatibility. This project will be done to align with our upgraded learning management platform and in preparation for a software upgrade.
The successful candidate will require a high level of technical proficiency in maintaining and developing e-learning modules (preference given to experience using Adobe Captivate and Vyond), in addition to a strong, practical background in adult learning.
Additionally, the Advisor will assist the Team Leader, Learning and Development to provide strategic advice and recommendation on staff development and training plans within appropriate fiscal, human and physical resources required for training delivery.

Subject to capacity and departmental project priorities, you may also be responsible to:
- Conduct learning needs assessments: Engage with stakeholders to understand priorities, gather data, identify gaps, and obtain consensus on outcomes, while designing learning objectives for courses.
- Assist Team Leader, Learning and Development to gather relevant data on performance and current levels of competence; identify gaps in relation to required levels and obtain agreement on required outcomes; design learning objectives for training courses and activities based on needs assessment.
- Design and develop training courses or strands of a learning and development program to meet learning objectives; incorporate specified L&D methodologies and delivery channels; develop relevant content and high-quality learning resources to ensure high levels of learner engagement and achievement of learning outcomes.
- Provide input and support in the design and implementation of People programs such as career development, mentoring, leadership development and succession planning.
- Create reports and conduct analytics to identify measures and program effectiveness.
- Based on gathered data, make recommendations on improvement of training material and methodology.
What are we looking for from you?
- Experience and demonstrated technical proficiency with eLearn authoring tools, video creation & editing software is essential. Experience with Adobe Captivate is preferred.
- Knowledge of tools within learning management systems, usage and functionalities.

Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Education or related field (diploma, certificate or degree)
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Human Resources, talent management or training and development
- Post-secondary education in Adult Learning an asset
- Experience working with Learning Management System
