We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join a collaborative team focused on Learning & Development (L&D) training projects. In this role, you will be a key contributor to the execution of mid-to-high complexity learning initiatives, ranging from in-person instructor-led training to sophisticated eLearning pathways. You will take a holistic view of the project lifecycle, ensuring that all learning solutions align with long-term business priorities while maintaining tight governance and operational excellence.
This is a contract position running from May 25, 2026, to October 16, 2026, with the possibility of extension or conversion. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring the talent to work onsite 4 days per week at our client’s office in downtown Toronto.
Responsibilities
- Project Execution: Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of medium-to-high complexity L&D projects, ensuring delivery is on time, within scope, and on budget.
- L&D Strategy: Drive processes to implement various learning formats, including virtual Instructor-led training (vILT), eLearning, webinars, and self-directed workshops.
- Stakeholder Management: Develop and implement effective engagement strategies, acting as a primary point of contact and trusted advisor for internal and external stakeholders.
- Risk & Governance: Ensure tight governance control by actively managing, tracking, and resolving project risks and issues.
- Collaboration: Partner with Centers of Excellence (CoEs) to support delivery strategies, change management, and launch communication plans.
- Vendor Management: Support the selection, engagement, and onboarding process when third-party learning solutions are required.
- Reporting & Analysis: Facilitate status calls and report on project progress to diverse audiences and leadership levels.
- Continuous Improvement: Conduct project retrospectives to capture lessons learned and stay current with emerging trends in Agile and hybrid project practices.
Requirements
Must-Have Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: 7–10 years of experience in project management, specifically within a Learning & Development or adult training environment.
- Industry Knowledge: Proven experience within the Banking, Financial Services, or Insurance industries.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in MS Project and the MS Office Suite.
- Methodology: Thorough understanding of project management frameworks, including Agile and SCRUM experience.
- Communication: Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to tailor communications to stakeholders at all levels.
Nice-to-Have Skills and Qualifications:
- Certifications: PMP, Agile, or Scrum certifications are highly preferred.
- L&D Specialized Expertise: Background in performance consulting, instructional design, or learning technologies (LMS/LXP).
- Digital Tools: Experience with eLearning standards (SCORM, xAPI) and development software such as Articulate Storyline or Rise.
- Soft Skills: A "can-do" attitude, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to foster positive team morale in a fast-paced environment.
