By mid-2026, the headcount for Turner & Townsend in Europe will be 2,500 people and because of the ongoing growth and continuous innovation of our company, we are extending our learning & development team and are recruiting a Learning & Development Lead for the Europe region. The role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the overall learning and development strategy for Turner & Townsend in Europe. This role will be at Associate Director level, reporting into the European HR Operations Director.
This role focuses on creating the framework for change management and training of new systems and processes, aligning learning initiatives with business objectives, enhancing employee skills and performance, and fostering a culture of continuous learning. Key responsibilities include assessing training needs, designing and delivering learning programs, managing budgets, and evaluating the effectiveness of L&D initiatives.
Job Description
The duties of this role include:
- Project lead on learning and development requirements for all integration related activity and change management. Working closely with Change Management professionals and the wider integration team.
- Understand the training requirements of new system and processes and design, implement training programs to ensure broad understanding across the European business.
- Understand the training needs of the single business areas, sectors and entities of the combined business in Europe (skills, competencies, behaviours), including the differences in language & culture within the region.
- Assess L&D initiatives and training programmes available in all parts of the business incl. its affiliates.
- Develop a L&D strategy & framework for the Europe region, using existing and proposing new elements/initiatives/processes.
- Explore and implement innovative learning technologies and platforms to enhance the learning experience and improve accessibility.
- Establish an approach for talent identification, selection and development by applying existing global processes and implementing region-specific processes.
- Support the senior management team with talent identification and development.
- Give direction regarding the global L&D programs and processes and associated cycles.
- Manage the L&D budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of learning programs, from planning and execution to evaluation and improvement.
- Source external partners for the set-up and delivery of new training initiatives.
- Support operational experts from our organization to convert (technical) content into training material.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including managers, employees, and external vendors, to ensure alignment and successful implementation of L&D initiatives.
- People manage the L&D Coordinators in region (remotely).
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in L&D, continuously seeking opportunities to continuously improve and innovate.
Qualifications
- Bachelor´s/Master´s degree in Business Psychology, Human Resources Development or similar.
- At least 4-5 years’ experience in a L&D Senior Professional role, international work environment, ideally Building/Real Estate industry.
- Understanding of adult learning principles and best practices in L&D.
- Familiarity with various learning technologies and platforms.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- The ability to convert (technical) content into training materials.
- Experience with multimedia & LMS tools.
- Service-oriented autonomous work attitude.
- Result oriented, ownership and project-based way of working.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders; fluent in English.
