Summary of Position:
The Fellowship Coordinator position is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of new and existing special projects. The Fellowship Coordinator collaborates with Policy Strategists to develop and implement the Climate Equity Fellowship learning curriculum. The Fellowship Coordinator also plans, creates, and implements training and orientations for the Fellows in partnership with grantees, tracks the overall progress of the work, and works with the Director of the Policy Accelerator to evaluate, adjust, and refine the project.
Position Responsibilities:
Climate Equity Policy Fellowship Program (80%)
Work with Equity Fund staff to support grantees in finding and cultivating strong Fellowship candidates.
Lead the organization of meetings with internal staff and external partners and coordinate pre-planning meetings to scope goals and deliverables for the Fellowship project fully.
Track project action items and ensure follow-up and critical milestones are met on time.
Develop a strategy for and coordinate online or in-person annual orientation training and monthly online training for Fellows, including any consultant partners.
Maintain the Fellowship budget, and coordinate with the Policy Director on budget planning.
Collect, analyze, and utilize insights from colleagues and state partners to identify ongoing opportunities to improve the Fellowship.
Manage and coordinate a group of advisors and a bank of consultants who will support grantees and Fellows throughout the Fellowship.
Plan and conduct meetings and prepare regular reports to communicate the status of projects/processes to internal stakeholders.
In collaboration with the Strategic Partnerships team, write and create concise and compelling collateral that informs funding partners about the Fellowship.
Communicate with and convene partner organizations, as needed, to facilitate solid partnerships and training for Fellows and grantee organizations.
Budget permitting, coordinate Fellowship RFP process, grants, renewal conversations, and project task deliverables for 20-30 Fellowships per cycle.
Grantee Learning (10%)
Lead and coordinate the grantee Learning Community, a monthly grantee partner gathering that is a peer-to-peer learning space; tasks include but are not limited to design, administration, and content development.
Work with the state program officer team to maintain strong relationships with state organizational partners to identify ways to integrate the Learning Community and Fellows projects into state strategy.
Conduct research and analysis of emerging opportunities to meet the needs of the Learning Community and Fellows projects.
Develop and regularly update workshop and training materials for Learning Community and Fellowship grantees.
Develop and maintain expertise on policy and organizing landscape and near- and long-term opportunities in critical states.
Special Projects (10%)
Contribute to the Policy Accelerator’s strategy and work.
In partnership with the Operations and Strategic Partnerships teams, identify priority impact data, grantee stories, and other media to document in Salesforce systems.
Support fund development for the Equity Fund by cultivating relationships with funders, writing parts of proposals, and other tasks as needed.
Provide project coordination and strategic support in incubating and launching new programmatic initiatives as they emerge.
Travel to offsite meetings and other Equity Fund events.
Other duties as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the position’s essential functions.
Experience and Skills:
Combined 3+ years of professional and political experience in climate change/clean energy policy campaigns or related fields, such as community organizing, racial and economic justice, government, political campaigns, and philanthropy.
Strong project management skills to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and workflows.
Ability to travel domestically 10-15% annually.

Compensation: The base pay range for this position starts at $75,000-85,000, based on our DC office location and may vary based on cost of labor in each respective geographical market. Typically, new hires are hired into the middle portion of the range, enabling employee growth in the range over time. Actual placement in the range is based on job-related skills and experience, as evaluated throughout the interview process. Salary offers are made in consideration of our internal equity within the organization and external equity with competitive markets.
