The Training Specialist is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of training programs across the organization. This role goes beyond coordination — it requires applying professional judgment to assess training needs, recommend solutions, and ensure programs meet compliance and business objectives. The Training Specialist partners with leaders, subject matter experts, and HR to strengthen the learning culture, optimize use of the Learning Management System (LMS), and provide analysis and insights that guide decision-making.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Training Program Support & Analysis
- Assess training needs through data analysis, stakeholder feedback, and performance trends.
- Recommend program improvements and escalate learning gaps to leadership.
- Monitor compliance and certification requirements; proactively identify risks and corrective actions.
- Schedule and coordinate courses as required.
LMS & Reporting Expertise
- Manage learning records and ensure data integrity across systems.
- Develop and deliver reports that provide leaders with actionable insights into training effectiveness and workforce readiness.
- Troubleshoot LMS issues, recommend system enhancements, and serve as a subject matter expert on training technology.
Strategic Support & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with leaders to align training programs with business objectives.
- Evaluate program effectiveness using metrics, surveys, and performance outcomes.
- Recommend new methods, tools, and best practices to enhance employee development and engagement.
Experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Project Management Certifications.
- 1–3 years’ experience within a training program.
- Previous experience with an oilfield related company.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and talk and hear.
- Employee is required frequently to use hands and digits to handle or feel work material.
- Employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
- Lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs occasionally, 20 lbs frequently, and 5–10 lbs daily.
- Must be able to use/wear applicable personal protective equipment including but not limited to safety-toed footwear, back support belt, hearing protection, safety eyewear with side shields, gloves, and hard hat.
- May occasionally be required to wear approved/applicable respiratory protection equipment.
- Frequent ascent/descent of stairs/steps, especially at field locations. Must be able to respond quickly to an emergency situation.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Noise level is usually moderate; however, field locations may require hearing protection.
- Building AC/Heating systems are typical “closed loop” systems.
- Field locations may range from below zero (0) to above one hundred (100) degrees depending upon time of year and humidity.
- Field locations may be dusty, wet, or muddy depending upon weather conditions.
