Contract Recruiter - Skilled Trades (Remote)
Job Type: Contract (Temporary)
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Work Location: Fully Remote
Pay Rate: $30-$45/hour (depending on experience)
Contract Duration: Minimum 1-2 months; expected 2+ months with possible extension (not guaranteed)
Important: This is a short-term contract role only. There is
no opportunity for permanent conversion.
Position Overview
Our client is seeking a
Contract Recruiter - Skilled Trades to support immediate hiring needs due to a temporary recruiter absence. This role requires a
true technical / trade recruiter with hands-on experience recruiting
blue-collar and skilled labor populations in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
The recruiter will step in quickly to manage active requisitions across multiple locations and support urgent hiring needs. This assignment requires someone who can move fast, work independently, and effectively partner with a fully remote recruiting team.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit for skilled trade and field-based roles, including:
- Field Technicians (Levels 1-5)
- Mechanics
- Electricians
- Utility and other trade labor roles
- Manage approximately 25-35 open requisitions concurrently
- Support hiring across multiple locations for similar job profiles
- Source candidates using LinkedIn and Indeed
- Maintain accurate, timely recruiting activity within Workday (ATS)
- Partner closely with recruiters and hiring leaders in a fully remote team environment
- Move quickly to support urgent hiring needs while maintaining quality and candidate experience
Required Qualifications
- 3-4+ years of recruiting experience
- Proven experience recruiting blue-collar, skilled trades, or field-based labor
- Strong understanding of how trade labor recruiting differs from corporate recruiting
- Experience managing high-volume requisition loads
- Hands-on experience using Workday as an ATS
- Comfortable sourcing talent via LinkedIn and Indeed
- Ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and take direction with minimal ramp-up
Preferred Experience & Traits
- Experience recruiting within the Energy or Power industry (preferred, not required)
- Go-getter mentality with a strong sense of urgency
- Willingness to jump in and take on workload immediately
- Comfortable with ambiguity and short-term assignments
- Reliable, communicative, and accountable throughout the contract period
Additional Details
- Equipment provided: Laptop and cell phone (monitors may be available if needed)
- No overtime expected
Pay Details: $30.00 to $45.00 per hour
