Learning & Development Coordinator
Houston - Full-time - Career growth path to L&D Manager
About the role
SBPM Partners operates a fast-growing international connectivity installation network spanning many EU countries and parts of North America. We are building our training function from the ground up and need someone ready to roll up their sleeves and build it.
This is a hands-on role. You will be the person who writes the content, configures the LMS, interviews the installers, and iterates based on what QA is finding in the field. There is no team to hand things off to — you are the team. If you thrive on owning something end-to-end and seeing your work make an immediate difference, this is for you.
What you'll actually be doing day-to-day
First 6 months · Build it
Content creation, LMS setup, getting into the field
- Sit with installers, country partners, and ops leads — ask questions, take notes, understand how the work actually gets done
- Turn what you learn into practical training content: short videos, e-learns, job aids, onboarding guides
- Set up and manage Talent LMS — upload content, build learning paths, track completions, pull reports
- Work side-by-side with the senior management to understand what's going on in the field and build training that improves and upgrades
- Build onboarding materials that get new country partners and installers up to speed quickly
- Iterate constantly — make changes when needed, fast
Months 6–12 · Improve and systematize
Certification, feedback loops, cross-country rollout
- Build a tiered certification pathway for installers — Standard, Advanced, QA-Certified — with real competency checks, not just test-passing
- Establish a regular rhythm so field findings feed directly into curriculum updates
- Roll out training across new countries as we expand — adapting content for local context, not just translating it
- Develop advanced content for future markets with other clients and product offerings
- Build a simple way for country teams to share best practices with each other
Year 2+ · Grow
Senior role and team development
- As the program matures and the business expands, this role grows with it — into L&D Manager and beyond
- At the right time, table the idea of growing the team and support functions
- Own the L&D strategy for a business operating in 50+ countries
Who you'll work with
QA Manager (UK-based)
They see what's going wrong in the field every day — your job is to turn those findings into training that prevents it from happening again.
Country Partners
They manage the installers on the ground. You'll work with them to understand local needs, roll out training, and make sure it actually gets used.
Senior Leadership (Houston)
Direct access, genuine interest in what you're building, and fast decisions when you need them.
What we are looking for
You need to have done this
- Created training content yourself — written e-learns, made videos, built job aids, produced onboarding guides
- Administered an LMS — not just used one, but actually managed it (uploading content, building paths, pulling reports)
- Sat with people who do practical, hands-on work and turned what they know into structured training
- Used data to decide what to train on — QA reports, CSAT scores, error logs, whatever the signal was
- Worked in a technical, operational, or field services environment
- Managed your own workload without someone telling you what to do next
Great if you also have
- Experience with Talent LMS or system similar
- A background in telecoms, hardware, construction, or installation industries
- Built a certification or competency framework before
- Worked with teams across multiple countries
- Experience linking training outcomes to customer satisfaction metrics
The kind of person this works for
- You get more energy from building something than managing something that already exists
- You are comfortable being the only person in the room who does what you do — for now
- You can sit with a skilled tradesperson who has never had formal training and earn their trust quickly
- When something is not working, you change it — you don't need to be told
- You communicate clearly across different cultures, time zones, and seniority levels
- You use data to prioritize, not just to report
- Fast-paced and sometimes messy environments do not stress you out — they motivate you
What we offer
This role is designed to grow. We are building something from ground up, and the person who builds it well will run it. The path from Coordinator to L&D Manager to senior L&D leadership is real and tied directly to what you deliver — not to tenure.
- Competitive compensation based on your experience
- High autonomy — you own your function from day one
- Direct access to the leadership team and the owner
- Houston base with structured international travel to EU and UK operations
- A company that moves fast and makes decisions quickly
