Field Operations Trainer - Hybrid Remote
Reports to: Learning and Development Manager
Annual Salary: $80,000 to $90,000 based on experience
Location: Etobicoke, Ontario
COBS Bread is looking for a
Field Operations Trainer to train new Franchisees, to support successors through the fee-based Franchisee training programs, to develop established franchisees and MSOs, and to deliver operations team development. This person must genuinely understand operations, franchising, and the day-to-day reality of running a bakery. They will have the ability to teach new and existing Franchisees with patience and urgency.
What you will be responsible for:
- Train roughly 20 new Franchisees annually through the fee-based Franchisee development program
- Support 10+ successors through the structured Franchisee development program
- Own ongoing capability development for established Franchisees
- Design and deliver structured MSO training for multi-site operators
- Design and deliver operations team development, building coaching and people management skills
- Support workshops and labs with field facilitation and operational expertise
- Collaborate with the Operational Learning & Engagement Lead on leadership content and cross-business facilitation
- Develop content building skills over time, with the ability to design and hand off to designers or build independently
- Facilitate learning across all franchise and field audiences
- Other tasks and projects as assigned
Requirements
What you bring to the table:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in bakery, retail, or franchise operations
- At least 2+ years in training, coaching, or capability development capacity
- Bachelor's degree/Post-secondary education in Business, Hospitality, or a related field, or equivalent operational and training experience
- Strong experience in training, operations, or capability development within franchise, retail, or multi-site environment
- Thorough understanding of and experience in franchise operations and bakery-level operation required
- Demonstrated facilitation skills with diverse audiences
- Ability to learn quickly and translate learning into practical training
- Experience working with new business operators or Franchisees
- Comfortable in the field, in bakeries, and in face-to-face environments
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel occasionally within the region
