Job Summary
The Educator plays a key role in onboarding, training, and continuous skill development across the organization. This position is responsible for designing and delivering impactful learning experiences that enhance clinical, coding, and professional capabilities, while ensuring alignment with business goals and performance outcomes. The Educator partners cross-functionally with leadership, HR, and subject matter experts to develop and maintain high-quality educational content, support employee growth, and drive a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
What You’ll Do
- Design and deliver onboarding programs to support new hire readiness and performance
- Facilitate engaging training sessions across individual, group, and virtual environments
- Assess learning needs and develop targeted training solutions aligned to business goals
- Provide ongoing education and guidance to employees to strengthen clinical and coding expertise
- Create, update, and maintain educational materials, LMS content, and training resources
- Serve as a subject matter expert, supporting internal teams with coding, clinical, and regulatory questions
- Analyze regulatory updates (CMS, IPPS, HCCs, DRGs, etc.) and ensure training content remains current
- Evaluate training effectiveness using performance data and feedback, driving continuous improvement
- Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to align learning strategies with organizational objectives
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and professional development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Nursing, Education, Instructional Design, Organizational Development, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in education, training, or learning & development specifically in Health Information Management (Inpatient CDI and coding)
- Strong clinical knowledge of complex disease processes and treatments
- Deep understanding of regulatory guidelines (IPPS, CMS measures, HCCs, MS-DRG, APR-DRG)
- Experience developing and delivering onboarding and training programs
- Required certification: CCS, CDIP, and/or CCDS (RN preferred)
- Experience with LMS platforms and content development preferred
- Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
- Highly organized with strong time management and ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
