Missouri Farm Bureau is looking for a Talent Development Specialist or Senior Talent Development Specialist to join our Human Resources team. This role combines learning design, facilitation, content development, onboarding, and partnership with leaders across the organization to create practical learning experiences that help employees succeed.
Depending on experience, the selected candidate may be hired at either the Talent Development Specialist or Senior Talent Development Specialist level.

What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll help turn business needs, processes, and ideas into learning experiences employees can actually use.
You’ll:
- Partner with leaders and subject matter experts to identify learning needs and performance gaps.
- Design and deliver engaging instructor-led, virtual, e-learning, and blended learning experiences.
- Translate complex processes, systems, and information into clear, practical training resources.
- Create job aids, reference guides, assessments, knowledge checks, and microlearning content.
- Support onboarding and foundational training for newly hired employees.
- Maintain training materials, checklists, manuals, templates, and coaching resources.
- Facilitate professional development, refresher training, and targeted learning programs.
- Equip supervisors and leaders with resources that support coaching and employee development.
- Evaluate learning effectiveness and use feedback and performance indicators to continually improve training.
- Coordinate training schedules, enrollment, facilities, technology, and learning platforms.
- Build strong relationships with employees and leaders throughout our Home Office and field locations.
At the Senior Talent Development Specialist level, you’ll also serve as a strategic learning partner, leading more complex needs assessments, advising leaders on development strategies, and taking ownership of larger or enterprise-wide learning initiatives.

You’re someone who can take a complicated topic and make it understandable. You’re equally comfortable developing content behind the scenes and standing in front of a group to bring that content to life.
You’ll be successful here if you bring:
- Strong written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- A solid understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design.
- The ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across different departments and levels of the organization.
- Strong organization and project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
- A practical, learner-focused approach to developing training.
- Strong customer service skills and a genuine interest in helping others succeed.
- The ability to analyze information, identify learning needs, and adapt content for different audiences.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems is helpful.
- Insurance industry knowledge is a plus, but it is not required.
Requirements to Succeed
Talent Development Specialist
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in training, learning and development, talent development, or a related role.
- Working knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
Senior Talent Development Specialist
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in learning and development, training, or workforce development.
- Demonstrated ability to independently lead learning initiatives, consult with leadership, and influence development strategies.
- Professional licenses or designations are welcomed but are not required.
