Reporting to the Managing Director, the People and Culture Business Partner will lead the Human Resources function in Fallon and Byrne and oversee the development and implementation of HR strategies and initiatives. The role focuses on shaping and nurturing organisational culture, enhancing employee engagement, driving organisational performance and ensuring compliance with HR practices and processes. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, an empathetic leader, an excellent communicator with a passion for people and culture that takes a values-based approach to their role and organisational development.
Key Responsibilities
- Culture and Engagement
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance company culture and employee engagement.
- Promote a positive work environment aligned with Fallon and Byrne’s values and mission.
- Organise and lead cultural initiatives and events.
- Build initiatives to communicate and embed Fallon & Byrne’s company values in all areas and at all levels of the organisation.
- Conduct regular temperature checks and gather feedback on areas for development.
- Work towards achieving Great Places to Work recognition.
- Lead internal communications, including regular newsletters, company updates, relevant signage, noticeboards and continuously improve internal communications channels.
- Manage the relationship with the company’s wellbeing provider
- Recruitment and Talent Management
- Oversee the recruitment and selection process to attract top talent.
- Develop and manage onboarding programs for new employees.
- Implement talent management strategies, including career development and succession planning.
- Develop and communicate Fallon & Byrne’s employer brand proposition, presenting the brand as a top employer in the retail and hospitality space both internally and externally
- Employee Relations
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee concerns and conflicts, ensuring fair and consistent resolution.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with employees at all levels.
- Provide training and support for key stakeholders in the business to manage employee relations issues.
- Training and Development
- Identify training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
- Ensure that the company’s training matrix is continuously updated and skills/training gaps are identified and addressed.
- Continuously work to improve the employee induction process.
- Work with key stakeholders in the business to ensure that their skills as people managers are developed and enhanced.
- Work with key stakeholders to identify next level talent and focus on succession planning introducing a mentoring programme for next-level leaders.
- Oversee the implementation and evaluation of training initiatives.
- Compliance and HR Operations
- Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations.
- Issue weekly HR KPI Dashboards to the management team in the business and track as part of measuring success in people management departmentally and across the business.
- Oversee HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date and effectively communicated.
- Manage HR administration, including payroll, benefits, and record-keeping.
- Oversee the management of the company’s HRIS and work to maximise the utility of the system.
- Performance Management
- Lead and develop the performance management process, providing training and support to managers and employees.
- Working with key stakeholders in the business, work to create a values-based performance management and appraisal system based on agile principles.
- Implement and monitor performance improvement plans as necessary.
The Person:
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ of experience in a HR role, 2 years’ at management level within the hospitality or retail sectors.
- Ability to work with a range of key stakeholders across the business, including other members of the senior leadership team.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives.
