General Accountabilities
As a Human Resources Assistant in the Learning and Leadership Development department, you will support the team in providing programs and services to managers and staff of Hydro One. You will be accountable for providing administrative and information processing services to the staff of the Learning and Leadership Development Group. This includes assisting with logistics, materials preparation, communications, and co‑facilitating New Employee Orientation (NEO) to support a positive onboarding experience for new hires.
Specifically, You Will
- Provide assistance and support related to Leadership and Organization development programming to our internal stakeholders including employees, various levels of leaders and human resource business partners.
- Organize logistics for training by liaising with external vendors, internal partners and presenters to coordinate arrangements for training and development activities
- Interacts with employees seeking enrolment in Hydro One's leadership training programs and coordinates the registration process within the Learning Management System (Success Factors)
- Providing customer service including responding to inquiries related to training and maintaining HR Inbox and calendar
- Assist with the preparation of course evaluations including data gathering, statistical summaries and reports
- Tracks cost and enrolment information for development programs and liaises with other departmental contacts on cost/accounts payable matters
- Participate in special assignments relating to the Group’s work programs.
Selection Criteria
- HR Certificate or Bachelor degree in Business or related field (or 2-3 years relevant work experience in a corporate environment)
- Previous experience in Learning and Development, including coordinating training sessions and supporting program delivery
- Strong interpersonal skills, customer-service oriented, solutions-focused and a positive attitude
- Advanced computer skills including facility with MS Office Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Excellent demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated time management and organizational skills; ability to handle a high volume workload while effectively changing priorities in a fast-paced environment that involves managing tight deadlines
- Demonstrated attention to detail/accuracy/thoroughness
- Work well independently as well as on a team and demonstrate initiative
