Job Summary:
The Learning, Equity & Inclusion Generalist will play a key supporting role in shaping an inclusive, growth-oriented employee experience at LOFT. As a member of the People and Culture team, the Generalist is responsible for planning, organizing and coordinating learning, training and professional development offerings, and leading activities to support our reconciliation, equity, accessibility, diversity and inclusion work.
What You Will Do:
Talent Development and Learning
- Support the coordination, and implementation of learning and development programs that strengthen organizational capability and support LOFT’s strategic priorities
- Facilitate or co‑facilitate learning sessions, workshops, and training programs (virtual and in‑person) that build skills, confidence, and shared understanding across the organization
- Partner with leaders and subject‑matter experts to assess learning needs and recommend development solutions that enhance service quality, employee growth, and community impact
- Contribute to the rollout and continuous evolution of LOFT’s leadership development strategy, supporting program logistics, communications, and meaningful participant engagement
- Support performance and career development initiatives that encourage professional growth, internal mobility, and retention of talent aligned with LOFT’s values
- Support the development and implementation of solutions that embed equity‑mindedness, reflective practice, and continuous learning across the organization
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
- Support the development and implementation of DEI initiatives, programs, and learning activities that reflect LOFT’s commitments
- Coordinate DEI‑related training, awareness initiatives, events, and communications that promote inclusive behaviours and shared responsibility across the organization
- Assist with the integration of DEI principles into programs, policies, and practices
- Support advisory committees, and working groups in ways that amplify engagement, voice, and inclusion
- Contribute to LOFT’s health equity and reconciliation work by supporting and leading initiatives
- Stay informed of emerging DEI best practices and sector trends, contributing ideas that strengthen LOFT’s people practices and community impact
Data, Measurement & Continuous Improvement
- Manage and track activities across the organization, including scheduling, reporting, and maintaining learning systems and tools
- Develop scorecards and dashboards to monitor progress
- Use surveys, HR analytics, and maturity scans to identify priorities
- Gather, analyze, and interpret data related to learning, development, equity, and employee experience to assess impact and inform decision‑making
- Create and track metrics aligned to organizational goals and our strategic plan to ensure programs are effective, equitable, and responsive
- Prepare reports and insights on key performance indicators, identifying opportunities for enhancement and continuous improvement
- Build and maintain a centralized repository of resources, learning content, providers, and tools that reflect best practices and sector learning
- Organize and support communications and promotional materials that build awareness, participation, and engagement in learning and equity initiatives
Operational Support
- Provide day‑to‑day support for People & Culture operations, programs and initiatives in alignment with LOFT’s mission, values, and strategic direction
- Respond to employee and manager inquiries related to learning, development, and DEI with professionalism, care, and discretion
- Support change management, culture initiatives, and engagement activities that strengthen trust, alignment, and organizational effectiveness
- Maintain clear documentation, resources, and internal communications to support transparency and consistency across People & Culture initiatives
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment, cohesion, and shared ownership of LOFT’s people strategy
What You Bring:
- Demonstrated passion for people, equity, inclusion, and learning, with a strong commitment to advancing DEI in the workplace
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Adult Education, Learning, DEI or deep, applied experience leading DEI and learning initiatives
- Lived experience as a member of an equity-deserving group, with the ability to apply this perspective thoughtfully and professionally in organizational settings
- 3–5 years of experience in HR, learning and development, DEI, or a related people‑focused role
- Strong understanding of Reconciliation, Equity, Accessibility, Diversity and Inclusion, including practical application of READI principles in the workplace
- Proven experience supporting or delivering training programs, workshops, or learning initiatives, including facilitation and evaluation
- Excellent verbal, written, and analytical communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences
- Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and organizational levels
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion, professionalism, and trust
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Highly organized with proven time management skills, able to manage multiple priorities while adapting to changing needs
- Comfortable working with data, reports, and evaluation metrics, with the ability to identify trends and insights
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams; Power BI considered an asset), with strong working knowledge of Excel preferred
- Experience using HRIS systems (ADP Workforce Now or similar) is an asset
