Lead, Digital Learning and Curriculum Design!

The Lead, Digital Learning & Curricular Design plays a vital role in the implementation of a robust digital learning strategy to support the Learning Institute's mission. This multifaceted role combines technical leadership in management of digital learning platforms/technologies with pedagogical expertise. It will support the Learning Institute’s efforts to strengthen evidence-based educational practice, with suitable learning technologies.
Working in close consultation with clients across the institution, the Lead identifies learning needs, develops responsive solutions, and co-designs high-impact educational programming for health professions education, patient education, and staff training.
The Lead is responsible for the end-to-end management of the learning management system and digital learning infrastructure, from implementation and quality assurance to vendor relations and user support. They design engaging, accessible online courses and multimedia content that meet the evolving needs of healthcare professionals and learners, while also managing complex projects and providing consultation services across the organization.
Summary Of Duties
- Manage operations of learning technology software/infrastructure to advance the implementation and quality assurance of Learning Institute’s digital learning strategy
- Oversee all aspects of the learning management system including configuration, customization, and optimization certifications, system maintenance, system documentation, integrations, and user support
- Primary liaison with IT teams for system integration, security, and infrastructure requirements for learning technologies
- Maintenance of learning technologies in relation to system upgrades, patches, and version migrations
- Lead implementation of a user-management strategy for the LMS including management of diverse user account types, enrollments, permissions, and access controls
- Lead project planning and execution for digital learning initiatives in alignment with the digital learning strategy
- Maintain robust project management systems for all digital learning and Learning Institute initiatives in collaboration with other Learning Institute staff
- Design and develop engaging online learning modules and courses using evidence-based instructional design principles
- Create interactive e-learning activities and assessments that promote active learning
- Apply adult learning theories, education science, and instructional design methodologies to curricular development practices
- Lead the creation and maintenance of digital resources including videos, infographics, and interactive media
- Oversee development of multimedia content for learning modules and educational materials
- Research and evaluate new tools, platforms, and methodologies for potential implementation
- Develop metrics and evaluation frameworks to assess learning effectiveness in alignment with the digital learning strategy
- Contribute to scholarly activities including presentations and publications on digital learning

Education And Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Education or a related field
- Minimum 7 years’ progressively responsible and related experience in curricular development and instructional design
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working directly on learning technologies including the administration of learning management systems
- Exceptional project management and planning skills connected to long-term priorities in relation to completion of deliverables
- Strong foundation in pedagogy for online learning and innovative skills
- Ability to interpret complex learning needs and determine appropriate digital learning technology solutions
- Demonstrated experience using technology to enrich learning experiences
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups of people including clinicians, researchers, and staff
- Ability to prioritize learning technology solutions in relation to both budgetary and client needs
- Proven attendance and punctuality.
- Professional behaviour and communication that meets the standards of the professional regulatory college or association, as applicable, and the standards of Women’s College Hospital
