Who Are We
Full time-Permanent
Salary
£60,000
Go-Ahead London is seeking a proactive and people-focused
Learning & Development Manager to support our
iBus Operations team of over 100 staff.
This role is central to keeping our training records accurate, our development plans current, and our people continuously improving through meaningful, real-time feedback.
Rather than designing training from scratch, you’ll
facilitate, coordinate, and oversee the full cycle of learning and performance support — ensuring that every member of the iBus team receives the right training at the right time. You’ll also play a key role in embedding a culture of
dynamic, on-the-floor feedback, where managers and controllers are regularly supported and coached to perform at their best.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records, ensuring all iBus staff meet compliance and development requirements.
- Coordinate and facilitate training sessions delivered by internal experts and external providers.
- Support managers in delivering regular feedback and one-to-ones, encouraging a culture of open communication and continuous learning.
- Conduct regular “walk-the-floor” observations to promote dynamic feedback and provide practical coaching where needed.
- Track and report on training completion, performance trends, and development progress.
- Identify gaps in knowledge or compliance and arrange timely interventions.
- Assist in onboarding and induction for new iBus Controllers, ensuring consistent quality and standards.
Essential
Qualifications
- Experience in learning and development, training coordination, or performance support within a busy operational environment.
- Strong organisational and record-keeping skills with great attention to detail.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build rapport and give constructive feedback.
- A proactive, visible presence — comfortable engaging with teams on the floor to support, guide, and encourage improvement.
- Competent in using data or reports to track progress and identify training needs.
Desirable
- Experience in transport, logistics, or another operational or regulated sector.
- Familiarity with training systems or performance management frameworks.

If you’re organised, people-centred, and thrive on helping others succeed — we’d love to hear from you.
