We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Learning Consultant - Expert to join a dynamic Talent Development team. In this role, you will be a key contributor to the design and development of innovative learning and performance solutions that enhance employee capabilities. You will research, recommend, and create content for a variety of projects, including mandatory training programs and system modernization initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of adult learning principles and a proven ability to manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment. This is a contract position running from May 18, 2026, through October 31, 2026, with the potential for extension based on business needs. This role is fully remote, supporting a team based in Toronto.
Responsibilities
- Instructional Design: Lead the end-to-end design of learning solutions, including conducting needs assessments (TNA) and gathering data to identify performance gaps.
- Content Development: Build high-quality learning materials using authoring tools such as Articulate 360 (Storyline and Rise) and multimedia tools across various modalities (audio, video, and animation).
- Strategic Collaboration: Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and internal stakeholders to define measurable learning objectives and research relevant content.
- Project Management: Manage development activities for related projects, ensuring all learning solutions are delivered on time and within agreed-upon parameters.
- Innovation & Implementation: Create detailed design plans and prototypes; monitor the results of learning programs and implement updates to improve layout and content effectiveness.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Work closely with cross-functional teams to determine appropriate training methodologies, such as virtual workshops, knowledge objects, and blended solutions.
Requirements
Must-Have Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in Instructional Design and content creation for adult learners.
- Tool Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency with Articulate 360 (Rise and Storyline) and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Certification: Post-secondary education or certification in Adult Education or Instructional Design.
- LMS Knowledge: Practical experience working with Workday LMS.
- Technical Expertise: Proven ability to conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and apply instructional design principles to e-learning, instructor-led, and self-guided formats.
- Project Management: Strong organizational skills with experience managing complex learning projects from inception to completion.
Nice-to-Have Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with Adobe Captivate and Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Previous experience within the financial services industry.
- Ability to work iteratively based on team member input and stakeholder feedback.
