Role Overview
Client is seeking a self-sufficient Project Manager to lead medium to high-complexity Learning & Development (L&D) / training initiatives across multiple banking divisions. The role focuses on managing end-to-end project delivery, including stakeholders, risks, timelines, scope, and budgets. The environment is primarily waterfall, with a growing shift toward hybrid / agile methodologies.This individual must be able to ramp up quickly, operate independently, and communicate confidently at both working and steering committee / senior leadership levels.

Responsibilities:
- Own day-to-day project execution: scope, schedule, budget, risks, and dependencies
- Lead medium to high-complexity training / L&D initiatives (not low-level projects)
- Develop and execute risk mitigation strategies
- Adapt to changing requirements within waterfall and hybrid/agile environments
- Present project updates and drive messaging with senior stakeholders
- Influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
- Ensure timely delivery of project milestones and overall outcomes
- Collaborate across teams to share best practices and drive project success
Day-to-Day
- Manage multiple concurrent L&D projects across Retail Banking, Wealth, and Contact Centres
- Engage regularly with leadership and steering committees
- Use MS Project (mandatory) and Confluence to manage plans and documentation
- Balance execution with strategic problem-solving and stakeholder alignment
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- Project Management experience (mandatory)
- Hands-on experience managing L&D / training projects (strongly preferred; hiring manager wants real experience, not résumé tailoring)
- MS Project Suite experience – mandatory
- Proven ability to manage medium to high-complexity projects
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Risk identification and mitigation planning
- Ability to influence without authority
- Self-starter; able to get “up and running” quickly
Nice-to-Have
- PMP and/or Agile certification (not mandatory)
- Hybrid / Agile project exposure
