This is a senior management role, and its key purpose is to:
- lead medical education, learning and development, including apprenticeship, vocational training and lifelong learning, core skills training, digital training across the three Trusts, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ie: “Tri-Trust”).
- bring together a coherent and comprehensive offer for Learning and Development issues across the Tri-Trust, developing and implementing strategy and policy and ensuring that all staff develop the knowledge, skills and competence to achieve the Trust’s strategic and operational objectives.
The responsibilities in section 1 to 6 are shared across the Tri-Trust (Chelsea & Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust).
- Learning & Development Lead and coordinate a comprehensive learning offer across all levels of the Tri-Trust.
- Apprenticeships Maximise use of the apprenticeship levy to provide diverse development opportunities for staff.
- Widening Participation Support initiatives that encourage young people to pursue NHS careers.
- Core Skills/Mandatory Training Ensure full compliance in mandatory training across the Tri-Trust through efficient, high-quality delivery.
- Digital Infrastructure Design and implement digital systems, including a learning management system, to support learning.
- Team Leadership & Resources Lead the learning, apprenticeship, medical education*, and core skills teams to deliver a high-performing, customer-focused service.
