ROLE OBJECTIVE:
The Deputy Director of People and Operations leads various HR and Admin functions and responsibilities including organisation culture, recruitment and talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, training and development, performance management, and employee and office relations. The goal is to improve employees’ well-being and experience, manage talent, streamline operations and contribute to the company’s overall success.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Shaping the organization’s culture and employee experience to reflect our values and mission and nurturing an inclusive and empathetic work environment.
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that align with the organization's goals and shared stakeholders’ values.
- Partner with organisation’s leaders to implement people strategies aligned with operational needs.
- Lead the development, monitoring, review, and evaluation of a People Plan that promotes a people-first culture with positive behavior, diversity, and inclusion.
- Implement controls and mitigate risks related to workforce planning, hiring, retirement, diversity, and inclusion.
- Enforce policies that prevent discrimination and promote equal opportunities for all employees.
- Provide strategic advice on complex employee relations issues and conflict resolution.
- Oversee HR Operations, including employee relations, performance management, and career and talent development.
- Lead the recruitment process, from proactively assessing the talent pool and identifying talent needs to onboarding new employees.
- Handle employee disputes, discipline, and termination processes.
- Develop and manage compensation and benefits programs.
- Implement initiatives to create a work environment that supports employees’ physical and mental well-being.
- Design, implement, and manage the organization's succession planning strategy. This role involves identifying and developing internal talent to ensure the organization has a pipeline of capable leaders ready to step into key roles when needed.
- Promote change management efforts and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and retention and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Coach managers in effectively handling employee relations issues
- Oversee the organization's performance management system to ensure that employees are meeting their goals and contributing to the overall success of the organization.
- Create and oversee a 360-performance management system that aligns with organisation’s goals and objectives.
- Set performance standards for employees and managers.
- Design and implement training and personalized development improvement programs to address skill gaps and enhance employee performance.
- Educate and coach managers on performance management, including goal setting and reviews.
- Lead the Learning & Development programs and support training initiatives.
- Promote a coaching culture that empowers managers in people management responsibilities.
- Design and manage recognition and rewards programs to incentivize high performance and employee engagement.
- Plan and Manage HR projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to standards and promoting best practices.
- Ensure HR practices comply with relevant policies, practices, and statutory requirements.
- Collaborate with management to address work safety concerns and incidents promptly.
- Oversee daily office and employee operations.
- Oversee the management of information technology systems used by the company, including hardware, software, online services, documentation, and business continuity.
- Oversee the development of appropriate policies, systems, procedures, and controls to enhance the accuracy, timeliness, and presentation of procurement and contract management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 15 years experience in a People and Operations Management role in GCC.
- Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Human Resources or a related field.
- Extensive and up-to-date knowledge of Labor and commercial laws across GCC, especially Saudi Arabia and UAE.
- Strong leadership and strategic thinking abilities.
- Strong knowledge of HR functions, employment legislation, and best practices.
- Proficiency in HR systems (HRM, Applicant Tracking, Learning Management) and Microsoft Office Suite.
