Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Learning Specialist, Design on a temporary basis (term up to 12 months).
Our People & Culture team is seeking a subject matter expert in instructional design to help shape learning across our organization. The successful candidate will partner with stakeholders from a wide range of business areas to guide the development of engaging, effective learning content. Your expertise will directly influence learners across the CRS, helping them grow and succeed in their roles. This is a remote position open to applicants across Western Canada.
What you’ll do:
- Contribute to evolving L&D team practices by applying instructional design expertise to improve how learning needs are assessed, how solutions are scoped, and how the team partners with the business to deliver consistent, scalable, learner‑focused outcomes.
- Conduct project action mapping and storyboarding to define learning objectives in consultation with project stakeholders.
- Design and develop learning content in an Agile manner to meet project deadlines.
- Apply adult learning principles to design and deliver effective training deliverables including eLearning, workshops, and blended learning approaches.
- Manage a diverse portfolio of project deliverables from initial mapping stages to launch, consulting with stakeholders across the Co-operative Retailing Systems to delivery effective, learner-focused solutions.
Who you’ll work with:
You will be part of a team of Learning Specialists, Design reporting into a Learning and Development Specialist. This group is passionate about collaboration, relationship building, and driving meaningful learning experiences. You will work closely with your peers, our Employee Experience team, and professionals across the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) with a focus on L&D strategy and projects spanning diverse commodities and topics.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Instructional Design and:
- Have a minimum of 1-3 years of relevant learning & development experience with a solid understanding of instructional design.
- Have a bachelor’s degree, preferably specializing in HR or education (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
- Have experience with eLearning software (ex. Articulate 360, Vyond, Camtasia).
- Have experience with an LMS systems (ex. Oracle, Infor).
