The Director of Training & Development is responsible for designing, leading, and continuously improving company-wide training programs that support employee performance, quality, compliance, and organizational growth. This role oversees onboarding, role-based training, leadership development, and ongoing learning initiatives across a fully remote workforce, working closely with executive leadership, HR, quality, and compliance teams.
Training Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute an enterprise-wide training and development strategy aligned with business goals.
- Establish standardized training frameworks while allowing for role-specific customization.
- Serve as the strategic owner of onboarding, upskilling, cross-training, and leadership development programs.
Program Development & Delivery
- Design, implement, and maintain training curricula, SOP-based learning paths, job aids, and documentation.
- Oversee training delivery through live sessions, LMS platforms, workshops, and coaching programs.
- Ensure all training materials remain current with VA regulations, internal SOPs, HIPAA, and quality standards.
Performance & Quality Alignment
- Partner with Quality Control and Fulfillment leadership to identify performance gaps and training needs.
- Develop remediation and refresher training programs based on QA findings and operational metrics.
- Track and report training effectiveness using KPIs such as productivity, accuracy, error rates, and retention.
Leadership & Career Development
- Build and manage leadership development programs for frontline leaders, managers, and directors.
- Support succession planning and internal promotion pipelines.
- Coach managers on performance management, feedback, and employee development best practices.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all training documentation meets compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate training records, certifications, and completion tracking.
- Collaborate with HR and Compliance on mandatory workforce training initiative.
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop Training Managers, Trainers, and Instructional Designers (as applicable).
- Set performance expectations, goals, and professional development plans for the training team.
- Manage training budgets, platforms, tools, and external vendors.
Education
- Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience
Experience
- 7+ years of experience in training, learning & development, organizational development, or workforce enablement
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership or director-level role
- Experience building and scaling training programs in a remote or distributed workforce
Preferred
- Experience in healthcare, compliance-driven, or regulated environments
- Familiarity with LMS platforms, QA metrics, and performance dashboards
