The Sr. Director, Learning & Development Transformation is a senior leadership role responsible for
unifying, modernizing, and scaling the learning function following the merger of two healthcare/life sciences organizations. This role will lead the
integration of people, processes, content, and technology to create a single, high-impact learning organization supporting
2,000+ employees and external contractors across regulated contact center and operational environments.
This leader will be accountable for
redefining the learning operating model, transforming legacy training approaches, and ensuring consistent, compliant, and measurable learning outcomes that accelerate workforce readiness, improve customer experience, and enable growth.
Responsibilities
Your Impact in This Role
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Learning Transformation & Post-Merger Integration
- Lead the end-to-end transformation of the Learning & Development function following the merger of two organizations.
- Assess and rationalize existing training teams, content, delivery models, and tools to create a single, cohesive learning strategy and operating model.
- Drive organizational change management, including stakeholder alignment, communication, and adoption of new learning processes and standards.
- Establish governance frameworks for curriculum ownership, content updates, certification, and compliance.
Strategic Learning Leadership
- Define and execute an enterprise learning strategy aligned to post-merger business objectives, operational needs, and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with executive leadership to identify capability gaps and ensure workforce readiness during and after integration.
- Serve as the senior authority for learning decisions impacting contact center performance, compliance, and scalability.
Training Design, Delivery & Enablement
- Oversee the design and delivery of scalable, role-based learning programs, including:
- New hire and contractor onboarding
- Program-specific and client-specific training
- Regulatory and compliance training (HIPAA, PHI, GxP, etc.)
- CRM, telephony, and workflow training
- Customer experience and leadership development
- Modernize learning approaches using blended learning, digital content, simulations, and performance support tools.
Team Leadership & Culture Integration
- Lead, mentor, and integrate training leaders and teams from both legacy organizations.
- Define a clear organizational structure, roles, and career paths for the unified learning team.
- Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation across the learning function.
Learning Technology & Workday Enablement
- Own the Learning Management System (LMS) strategy, with experience using or implementing Workday Learning strongly preferred.
- Lead the consolidation and optimization of learning technologies post-merger, ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and audit readiness.
- Partner with HRIS, IT, and Compliance to ensure Workday Learning supports regulatory training, certifications, and reporting needs.
- Leverage learning data and analytics to measure effectiveness, adoption, and business impact.
Compliance, Quality & Risk Management
- Ensure all learning programs meet healthcare and life sciences regulatory standards and contractual obligations.
- Maintain defensible training documentation for employees and contractors to support audits and inspections.
- Partner closely with Quality and Compliance teams to remediate performance or compliance gaps through targeted learning interventions.
Measurement & Business Impact
- Define KPIs to measure learning effectiveness, including time-to-proficiency, quality scores, certification completion, and operational performance.
- Demonstrate clear ROI from learning investments through data-driven insights and reporting.
Qualifications
What you’ll need to thrive in this role
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred (Organizational Development, Education, Business, or related field)
- 10+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Training, or Workforce Enablement
- 5+ years leading large, complex training organizations
- Proven experience leading learning transformation initiatives, including post-merger integration or large-scale change
- Experience in regulated industries (healthcare, life sciences, pharma, insurance, or similar)
Preferred
- Experience supporting contact center or customer operations environments
- Hands-on experience with Workday Learning (LMS) or Workday HRIS strongly preferred
- Experience consolidating or migrating LMS platforms and learning content
- Familiarity with AI-enabled learning, digital coaching, and performance analytics
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time, use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- Must be able to type 35 WPM with 97% accuracy.
- Although very minimal, flexibility to travel as needed is preferred.
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.
