Our Calgary-based client is a growing financial planning firm seeking an experienced Learning and Development Associate to join their team. Acting as a ‘player-coach,’ the Associate will ensure that the organization’s advisors, member firms, and their teams receive effective training and ongoing development and enablement support. The Associate will lead day-to-day training delivery, coaching, and content development, while supporting the adoption of financial planning tools and processes. This role is ideal for a financial professional – CPA or CFP – who has discovered a passion for developing others and is seeking a career shift into training and enablement.
Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To
- Deliver onboarding, training, and coaching for member firms, company advisors, and internal teams.
- Lead engaging in-person and virtual sessions on relevant topics and tools.
- Provide real-time support for financial planning software, CRM, and other technologies.
- Adapt training methods to suit diverse audiences.
- Collaborate with consultants to design and enhance structured learning journeys.
- Develop and maintain practical, accessible training materials and e-learning content.
- Manage and update the Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure current and effective learning methods.
- Gather feedback and monitor training outcomes to improve effectiveness and engagement.
- Act as a super user and champion for relevant tools, promoting adoption and best practices.
- Build strong relationships with firm leaders and advisors to understand and address training needs.
- Support CPA firms in integrating tools and processes through hands-on training and coaching.
- Note: occasional travel will be required to support teams across Canada.
Your strengths include:
- Practical experience as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and/or CPA (direct client advisory experience strongly valued).
- Proven ability to coach and support professionals in adopting new processes or technology, ideally with 2+ years in a training or coaching capacity.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills, both virtually and in-person.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfort navigating e-learning tools and LMS platforms.
