In this role, you’ll directly influence how quickly employees become safe, productive, and engaged. As the primary administrator of our learning management system, you’ll ensure our people have access to the right learning at the right time through a well-managed, data-driven platform. You’ll collaborate with subject matter experts to create high-quality, engaging learning content and continuously enhance training programs. Reporting to the Manager, Learning & Development, you’ll also play a key role in measuring learning effectiveness and demonstrating the meaningful impact of our programs across the organization.
What You Will Be Doing
LMS Administration
- Administer, configure, optimize, and troubleshoot an enterprise Learning Platform (e.g., AbsorbLMS, Cornerstone, Docebo, SAP SuccessFactors, Workday Learning, Moodle, or similar systems)
- Manage catalogs, paths, certifications, cohorts, permissions, user provisioning, and integrations
- Handle session scheduling, automations, learner communications, and certification renewals
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance system performance and learner experience
- Resolve escalated learner inquiries and develop scalable, self-help resources (FAQs, guides) to drive adoption and reduce repeated questions
- Analyze learning data and generate insights on participation, completions, compliance, learner behavior, and learner satisfaction to improve programs
- Ensure all learning programs and systems meet compliance and regulatory requirements, with accurate tracking, reporting, and renewals
- Act as a subject matter expert, advising leaders and SMEs on best practices in learning systems and design
Content Development & SME Collaboration
- Develop, prototype, curate, and test eLearning, videos, and blended programs using tools such as Articulate 360, Rise, Captivate, Camtasia, Vyond, iSpring, or similar platforms
- Explore the use of emerging learning technologies, including AI-powered learning tools (adaptive learning paths, AI-based content curation, chatbots, or analytics dashboards) to improve learner engagement and efficiency
- Follow accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1 AA) to deliver inclusive, mobile-friendly learning that works for all employees, including those using assistive technologies
- Manage content version control, curation, and library updates to maintain a fresh and relevant catalog
- Partner with subject matter experts to transform expertise into structured, high-quality learning experiences
- Deliver or co-facilitate onboarding, leadership, or compliance training sessions when required
- Support facilitator logistics and learner engagement for instructor-led and virtual programs to ensure effective delivery
- Help foster a strong learning culture by promoting best practices and learner communities
What We Would Like From You
- A diploma or bachelor’s degree in instructional design, information systems, HR / organizational development, education, or a related field — or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 years of experience managing and administering learning management systems, including implementation work with platforms like Absorb LMS, Docebo, SAP SuccessFactors, Workday Learning, Moodle, or a similar system
- Proven ability to create engaging eLearning content using tools such as Articulate 360, Rise, Captivate, Camtasia, Vyond, iSpring, Elucidat, or comparable software
- Genuine curiosity about new and emerging learning technologies — including AI-enabled tools — and how they can elevate the learner experience
- A data-driven mindset with the ability to measure learning effectiveness and apply insights to continuously improve programs
- Strong collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work closely with SMEs to co-create meaningful learning experiences while coordinating multiple projects effectively
- Experience facilitating or supporting live and virtual training sessions is an asset
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
- High detail orientation and the ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution; comfortable working independently and taking ownership of outcomes
Location and other key details:
- This is a full-time, permanent position based out of our Calgary head office: 5055 11th St NE, Calgary, Alberta
- Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
- Some travel to operational sites may be required
