We are currently looking for a Senior Specialist, Talent Management (HR Business Partner) to join our team.
Position Status: Temporary Full-Time (12 months)
Hybrid work model: Minimum two days per week in-office (Tuesday and Wednesday).

The Opportunity
As Senior Specialist, People and Culture Business Partner, you’ll be the go-to partner for assigned client groups—providing hands-on support, trusted advice, and strategic guidance across all areas of the employee experience.
From recruitment to performance and succession planning, compensation, change management, and organizational design, you’ll support both the day-to-day needs and longer-term priorities of your client teams. You'll also play a key role in delivering enterprise-wide processes and projects across the full talent lifecycle.
You’ll act as a trusted advisor to people leaders—supporting them in building strong, inclusive teams, navigating complex employee issues, and enabling business unit success.
This role requires the ability to flex between strategic consultation and operational execution, and to partner effectively across all levels of the organization.
You Will
Partner to Drive Talent Strategy
- Serve as the lead People & Culture business partner for assigned client groups, building strong relationships and deep understanding of business goals, culture, and priorities
- Use People & Culture metrics and insights to identify risks and opportunities and proactively influence outcomes
- Act as a sounding board to leaders and advise on workforce development, team effectiveness, and organizational growth
- Champion equity, diversity, and inclusion within hiring, promotion, and development practices
Deliver Annual Talent Programs
- Provides guidance to assigned client groups to support the execution of annual talent processes including performance management, compensation reviews, and learning and development planning
- Coach leaders on setting goals, giving feedback, and coaching employees to create individual development plans
- Support employees in navigating internal mobility, career progression, and upskilling opportunities
- Lead the development or enhancements of Talent Management programs design to elevate the employee experience.
- Collaborate with People & Culture colleagues to ensure consistent and effective delivery of Foundation-wide programs
- Work closely with leaders to align talent practices with organizational strategy and business unit priorities
Lead End-to-End Recruitment
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for assigned client groups, from vacancy to offer
- Develop tailored sourcing strategies to attract diverse, high-quality talent
- Partner with hiring leaders to create inclusive job postings, run equitable selection processes, and deliver a best-in-class candidate experience
- Advise on compensation recommendations for new hires, ensuring alignment with internal equity and market competitiveness.
Support High-Performing, Engaged Teams
- Provide day-to-day advice on employee relations, policy interpretation, accommodations, and performance concerns
- Promote a culture of inclusion and belonging by coaching leaders on equitable practices in hiring, development, and team dynamics
- Use engagement data and feedback to support culture-building efforts and improve the overall employee experience
- Manage conflict resolution, guide leaders in sensitive conversations, and lead investigations into complaints when necessary
- Identify potential talent risks and proactively address them through consultation and planning
- Support leaders in identifying high-potential employees and recommend development actions to prepare them for future roles
- Represent the Talent team in working groups focused on enterprise priorities such as DEI, culture, and innovation
Support Change and Organizational Design
- Guide client teams through change, restructuring, and realignment
- Provide tools, resources, and communication strategies that build resilience and trust during transition
- Support cross-functional efforts to improve structures, clarify accountabilities, and enhance team effectiveness
- Continuously assess the impact of organizational changes and provide insights to support long-term success
Lead and Contribute to Strategic Projects
- Lead or contribute to new projects and continuous improvement initiatives focused on talent development, employee engagement, and HR process optimization
- Provide subject matter expertise in areas such as policy development, compensation philosophy, and organizational effectiveness
Qualifications
While we know that for any job posting no one candidate will possess the qualifications being sought in equal measure, below is an outline of the qualifications we believe are important for a candidate to bring to the position or for the successful candidate to develop while in the role:
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience supporting and advising internal clients across multiple People & Culture functions
- Proven experience managing recruitment, employee relations, and talent-related initiatives
- Deep knowledge of performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, and compensation processes
- Experience leading full-cycle recruitment and delivering exceptional candidate and hiring leader experiences
- Strong understanding of HR legislation, compliance, and best practices
- Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills—you know how to build trust at all levels
- The ability to coach and influence leaders and navigate sensitive issues with diplomacy
- Confidence using HR data to drive insights, guide decisions, and measure impact
- Proven ability to lead projects, manage competing priorities, and collaborate across teams
- Strong written communication skills to develop proposals, business cases, and presentations
- Critical thinking and problem-solving ability to evaluate complex employee scenarios and recommend actionable solutions
- CHRL designation (or in progress) is a strong asset
Total Compensation Package
Hiring Salary Range: $82,064.00 – $102,582.00; with the ability to progress to a maximum of $117,971.00. To ensure fair and equitable pay at SickKids Foundation, placement on the salary range will be based on your years of experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the Senior Specialist, Talent Management (HR Business Partner).
