As a senior member of the Learning and Development team you will be leading a team of three direct reports and liaising closely with other senior management and partners. In this role you will design and oversee the management of multiple development programmes (referred to as 'pathways'), support leadership development and employee engagement initiatives, and contribute to the successful implementation of the firm's Learning Management Platform. The role
In this role you will be:
- Overseeing the design of a number of structured development programmes for lawyers and business service professionals;
- Managing and leading the talent development team who are responsible for the day to day management and execution of development programmes;
- Managing the relationship, quality and return on investment of programmes delivered in partnership with external training providers;
- Designing and facilitating learning events and campaigns for employee engagement which aim to further enhance our culture, strengthen connection and promote peer learning;
- Collaborating and supporting our presenters in sharing their knowledge, experience and skills;
- Facilitating our culture of mentoring, particularly through the promotion of the firm's mentoring platform;
- Working proactively with the Director of L&D on strategic firm-wide projects, recommending innovative ways to meet business needs which may include both internal development or client focused development initiatives;
- Project managing the delivery of learning and development solutions / campaigns in line with budget and timelines;
- Developing reports measuring quantitative and qualitative data on our structured development programmes, making recommendations for changes as appropriate;
- Identifying new and innovative ways to deliver learning and development pathways to enhance the overall impact of the programmes and the attraction, development and engagement of talent;
- Working effectively with colleagues to anticipate and identify development needs;
- Leveraging the firm's learning management system, particularly as a means of offering individualised, self-paced and self-driven development; and
- Designing all learning and development programmes to ensure alignment with the firm’s learning and development strategy.
The person
- You ideally have experience in the professional services sector but not essential;
- You have expertise and experience in programme design methodologies;
- You are passionate about learning and development, both your own development and the development of others;
- You thrive in a fast paced diverse environment, can work both as a team member and independently, and are not afraid to roll your sleeves up to get stuck in;
- You are a clear and confident verbal communicator, with an ability to write concisely;
- You demonstrate a strong client service ethos and enjoy collaborating across the firm and building effective relationships;
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data analysis and PowerPoint for visual presentation of information;
- You have excellent project management skills, are adaptable and responsive to changing priorities and enjoy a fast paced, high performance environment; and
- You care personally about the success of initiatives that you are involved in, and in making a meaningful contribution to the firm.
