About AAW
American Apprenticeships Work (AAW) is a fast-growing workforce development company that helps employers train and retain the next generation of talent through high-quality apprenticeship programs. We partner with leading companies and industry associations to offer structured, scalable programs in fields like project management, digital media, and clean energy.
We’ve built a strong foundation: Clear client outcomes, repeatable systems, and significant market interest. Now we’re looking for a Director of Curriculum and Learning Experience to help us scale that momentum into a world-class enterprise.
About the Role
The Director of Curriculum and Learning Experience is a senior, hands-on role, reporting to one of our co-founders. We are looking for someone who brings experience, initiative, instinct, and curiosity. This is a great opportunity for someone who is at a senior level, and wants to lead as we scale the business. It’s also a great opportunity if you are an up-and-coming leader who is close to director level and wants to grow with the company.
AAW’s curriculum and learning experience are central to the success of our apprentices and their employers. The Director of Curriculum and Learning Experience will lead on design, deployment, and continuous improvement. This role owns the lifecycle of our learning products, from curriculum build and Canvas LMS deployment to quality assurance, partner engagement, and product innovation. The Director ensures apprentices and employers experience a high-quality, engaging, and scalable curriculum.
Initially you will have close oversight and support from the co-founders and team. Within the first six months, we expect to entrust you with much greater autonomy and ownership as systems and processes mature. This is a chance to step into a senior seat, build nationally recognized curriculum, and be at the forefront of solving one of the most critical workforce challenges of our time.
We are looking for you if you are:
- Mission-driven: You are motivated by solving the workforce challenges that define the future of work.
- Adaptive: You thrive in fast-changing industries and embrace learning in areas outside your expertise.
- Hands-on yet strategic: You are a pragmatic, sleeves-rolled-up do-er who also has the vision and skills to shape and deliver on a multi-year roadmap.
- Tech-minded: You are comfortable with learning systems, data, and automation, and are able to bridge the gap between pedagogy and platforms. You are proficient at utilizing AI in learning and learning management.
- Collaborative: You prioritize the needs of internal clients and our customers, and are skilled at drawing out insights from coaches, SMEs, and other partners to create structured, impactful learning experiences.
