As we expand our presence across Canada and into new markets, we are seeking a Curriculum, Training & Education Specialist to lead the development, implementation, and ongoing optimization of our educator training programs. This individual will play a pivotal role in ensuring our teams are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to implement our specialized curriculum effectively and foster a positive learning environment.
Role Overview
The Curriculum, Training & Education Specialist will oversee the creation, development, and execution of Willowbrae Academy’s training programs. This individual will focus on training new and existing staff on our Montessori, High Scope, and Emergent curricula. The role will involve both strategic oversight and hands-on involvement in the design and delivery of training sessions, ensuring the highest standards of educational practice are upheld across all locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Training Leadership:
- Design and deliver comprehensive training programs for staff in all educational methodologies, including Montessori, High Scope, and Emergent learning.
- Lead the development and adaptation of curriculum materials to meet the needs of new staff, ensuring they are equipped to deliver high-quality educational experiences for children.
- Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the training programs and refine them as needed to maintain alignment with Willowbrae’s educational philosophy.
- Training Program Development:
- Collaborate with the leadership team to create a training roadmap that supports the organization's growth, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Develop specialized resources and tools to enhance staff understanding and implementation of Willowbrae’s curriculum.
- Create and implement continuous professional development programs for educators, ensuring they remain up to date on best practices and pedagogical innovations.
- Trainer Support and Coaching:
- Train and mentor Academy Directors and teaching staff on the successful implementation of the curriculum and best practices.
- Provide ongoing support for staff to address challenges they face in the classroom, facilitating a collaborative learning environment.
- Quality Assurance:
- Conduct regular evaluations of the training and educational quality at each academy, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure the consistency and high standard of teaching across all locations, fostering a culture of excellence.
- Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration:
- Work closely with the CEO, Operations Managers, and Academy Directors to ensure the training program is aligned with operational needs and Willowbrae’s mission.
- Provide reports and insights to senior leadership on training outcomes, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring continuous growth and development.
- Research and Development:
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in early childhood education and training methodologies, incorporating new findings into Willowbrae’s educational model.
- Foster a culture of innovation by encouraging the team to explore creative and evidence-based teaching methods.
Qualifications
- Education and Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
- Additional certifications or training in Montessori, High Scope, or Emergent Curriculum required.
- Proven expertise in early childhood education, with a specific focus on Montessori, High Scope, and Emergent methodologies.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in early childhood education, with a demonstrated focus on curriculum design and teacher training.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience in a senior training, educational, or coaching role, with a proven track record of successfully developing and implementing educational programs.
- Skills and Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of Montessori, High Scope, and Emergent curriculum methodologies and how they apply to early childhood education.
- Strong instructional design skills, with the ability to create engaging, effective, and culturally relevant learning experiences.
- Exceptional coaching and mentoring abilities, with a passion for supporting the development of others.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and foster positive relationships.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and learning management systems (LMS) to facilitate online and in-person training.
- Other Requirements:
- Ability to work remotely and manage a decentralized team.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
