Job Overview
The Learning and Development Specialist will provide expertise in the design, delivery and administration of learning and development programs to support Human Resources and our Corporate programs. The incumbent will have a primary responsibility for the overall management and delivery of training programs for employees and management, identifying training solutions and maximizing current training resources. As part of the Human Resources Team, the incumbent will consult with business leaders to gain a thorough understanding of the business, corporate strategy and develop training solutions that will support the achievement of strategic goals.
What You Will Do
- Program Design
- Conduct needs analysis with business stakeholders to develop learning objectives, define key measurable results, define evaluation methods, and provide recommendations as required
- Develop online training, classroom and blended learning programs based on requirements in accordance with sound adult education principles
- Further existing job specific training framework and maintain/enhance existing content
- Establish strong working relationships with external training service providers
- Lead the development and implementation of the corporate training strategy on an ongoing basis
- Work collaboratively with SME’s regarding content development
- Program Delivery/Facilitation
- Create and facilitate training programs in a variety of subject areas including policies and procedures, career development
- Deliver New Hire Excellence and Manager Essentials programming
- Design and deliver appropriate training programs and materials
- Manage the tuition reimbursement program
- Manage budgets related to Learning and Development
- e-learning/Knowledge Management
- Provide consultation and guidance to managers and employees regarding Cornerstone LMS
- Create training content and maximizing the use of e-learning platforms as a medium for learning and development
- Interact with internal subject matter experts for the creation of new content
- Expert knowledge of developing online learning modules, activities and simulations
What We Require
- Post-secondary accreditation in Adult Learning, Training & Development or a related discipline, or equivalent experience degree
- 5 years’ experience designing and delivering comprehensive value add training programs
- 5 years’ experience across multiple HR functions
- 5 years’ LMS experience, preferably with Cornerstone LMS
- Industry experience in either financial services or mutual funds
- CTDP designation an asset
- Experience developing and implementing management training programs
- Strong presentation, facilitation, consulting and relationship building skills
- Sound knowledge of best practices and previous experience in the areas of curriculum development
- Exceptional organizational skills with an ability to handle multiple initiatives, projects and deadlines while keeping up with a fast paced environment
