In collaboration with Segment & Enterprise DEI as well as HR, this organization will provide subject matter expertise on relevant inclusion practices to business leaders and employees to develop and nurture an inclusive workplace where all employees can belong and thrive.
This role plays a critical part in shaping inclusive learning and driving integration across the Disney Entertainment DEI ecosystem. It serves as a connective bridge between HR, DEI, and business leaders to ensure that inclusive practices are embedded across learning experiences, systems, and strategic initiatives.
Reporting to the VP of DEI, within the broader HR organization key responsibilities of this role are:
Inclusive Learning
- Serve as a strategic learning partner to the Disney Entertainment DEI, HR, and business leaders.
- In collaboration with Enterprise DEI Learning, design, and implement innovative, actionable learning solutions that strengthen DEI and leadership capabilities.
- Support the rollout and implementation of Enterprise-wide DEI learning initiatives.
- Develop and adapt DEI learning content tailored for creative, global, and segment-specific audiences.
- Collaborate with segment Learning and Development teams to embed DEI principles into existing content and programs.
- Collaborate with News and Networks HRBPs and Professional Development teams to create specialized inclusive trainings for journalism professionals.
- Vet, manage and support relationships with external partners to ensure consistency in our approach, shared objectives and excellence in content delivery.
- Create, facilitate and deliver training to a range of audiences, including senior executives.
Integration & Planning
- Act as a strategic partner to Enterprise and learning teams across Disney Entertainment Television, Lucasfilm, Pixar, Marvel, Walt Disney Animation Studios to ensure alignment and integration of efforts.
- Lead day-to-day operational integration of DEI strategies, processes, systems, and priorities across the DEI function for the Disney Entertainment (DE) segment and collaborate with enterprise teams for those extending beyond Disney Entertainment.
- Maintain a deep understanding of segment-specific DEI learning priorities to support cross-functional collaboration.
- Serve as a horizontal and vertical strategic partner to multiple Enterprise and segment COEs.
- Lead the development of DEI strategy update and key insights for DE senior leaders and key stakeholders.
- Ensure business segments receive timely, relevant, and actionable information from COEs.
- Provide DEI thought leadership and oversee a Disney Entertainment Line of Business
- Oversee and manage special projects that span across business areas and strategic priorities.
Skills/ Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in DEI, learning, human resources, organization development, training or related talent planning field
- Diversity, equity and inclusion and/or HR experience, ideally with a global company or production studio
- Proven experience designing, implementing, and facilitating DEI-focused learning solutions in complex, global organizations.
- Strong diagnostic, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Demonstrates an effective consultative approach to build awareness or key organizational issues and consensus for relevant solutions; able to guide stakeholders through a shared and collaborative decision making process
- Strong strategic planning and operational execution skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent facilitation, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to engage varied audiences.
- Exceptional collaboration and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and partner at all levels, including senior executives.
- Deep cultural competence and ability to adapt learning approaches for diverse global audiences.
- Strong knowledge of learning principles, instructional design, and inclusive leadership practices.
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, California is $200,600-$245,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
