Interim Director of Professional Learning and Development
6-month contract (with potential extension/permanent)
Hybrid, four days per month from London office
Salary: £65K-£70K
Are you an experienced senior leader in education and training, ready to make an impact in a mission-driven, healthcare-focused organisation? We’re seeking an Interim Director of Professional Learning and Development to lead a high-performing education and training function during a key period of review and transformation. This is a 6-month fixed-term role with potential to extend or go permanent.
In this senior leadership position, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the operational delivery of professional learning, qualifications, events, and CPD programmes. You’ll be responsible for leading a talented department and collaborating with clinical and subject matter experts to deliver high-quality, evidence-based educational content that meets professional and regulatory standards.
You’ll also work closely with the CEO and SLT to assess and optimise the structure and capability of the education and training portfolio, ensuring it remains sustainable, innovative, and aligned to broader organisational goals.
Key requirements include:
- Proven senior leadership experience in education, training, or professional development
- Operation delivery and management excellence
- Strong knowledge of curriculum design, assessment frameworks, and quality assurance
- Experience delivering multi-format learning, including digital and blended models
- A track record of successful change leadership and team management
- Managing a small events team
Experience in the not-for-profit or membership sector is advantageous. This is a hybrid role, with an expectation of approx. 1 day per week in the London office (flexible across the month). We welcome applicants from across the UK.
