Cultural Competence Consultant
The Cultural Competence Consultant possesses a deep understanding of cultural diversity, inclusion, and organizational change. As part of the training team, this role combines analytical listening with strategic thinking to deliver tailored recommendations and solutions for clients. An exceptional facilitator and detail-oriented project planner, the Cultural Competence Consultant is skilled in executing recommendations and implementing solutions that meet and exceed client expectations, all while fostering an inclusive environment.
The ideal candidate will have proven qualifications in cultural competence training, learning and development, project management, and consulting on large-scale diversity initiatives. They will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, acting as a mentor and coach to others, while ensuring client satisfaction through meticulous attention to detail. JOB FUNCTIONS
- Training Facilitation & Project Management:
- Facilitate cultural competence training programs, focusing on cross-cultural understanding and inclusive leadership (primary job function).
- Collaborate with the team to support existing and new clients, consistently aiming to exceed expectations and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Client Engagement & Consulting:
- Occasionally assist in developing training proposals, conducting needs assessments, and leading strategy sessions with clients to enhance engagement and drive business growth.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitation & Delivery:
- Facilitate training sessions that include core offerings and customized solutions to enhance cultural competence across organizations.
- Build credibility as an expert resource in cultural competence and related training areas.
- Provide client-facing SME support on various projects, collaborating with the team to deliver effective solutions.
- Ensure quality control in training materials, verifying content, relevance, and alignment with adult learning principles.
- Gather feedback and assess the effectiveness of training programs to inform ongoing improvements.
- Project Management:
- Create and manage comprehensive project plans, coordinating milestones, and monitoring project health and performance.
- Collaborate with internal and external resources to ensure successful project execution.
- Streamline processes to eliminate low-value activities, improving overall efficiency.
- Client Engagement & Consulting:
- Support clients in identifying root causes of issues through effective needs assessments, both independently and in collaboration with the team.
- Develop tailored solutions by leveraging existing resources or identifying new assets to create.
- Maintain accurate Statements of Work, including project details, objectives, and success factors.
- Foster strong relationships with clients to support ongoing engagement and identify opportunities for new business.
- Internal Leadership & Strategic Guidance:
- Contribute to strategic discussions within the team, promoting a collaborative approach to achieve organizational goals.
- Participate in team meetings, sharing insights and recommendations for improving training processes.
- Document and implement best practices for enhancing cultural competence training and related processes.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 3-5 years experience
- Strong project management skills and proficiency with PM tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Entry-level consulting and organizational development capabilities.
- Exceptional facilitation skills for diverse groups.
- Systems thinker with an advanced understanding of cultural dynamics.
- Proficient in technology and solid presentation skills.
- Comfortable engaging in client-facing conversations and providing constructive feedback.
- Preferred: Experience in training design and organizational development.
- An advanced degree or significant experience in cultural competence, diversity and inclusion, learning and development, or related fields.
- Ability to travel domestically as required.

Annual Salary: 120K- 150k
