Job Description
Our client is seeking a Learning & Development Specialist to support an established learning function during a period of organizational transition. This role will be responsible for managing and delivering learning initiatives, partnering with stakeholders across the organization, and ensuring learning programs continue to support employee development, engagement, and organizational priorities.
This is a hands-on role that combines learning program management, instructional design, stakeholder engagement, vendor coordination, and project delivery. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, navigating ambiguity, and managing multiple learning initiatives simultaneously.
This is initially a 6-month contract with potential for extension or conversion
The role is primarily remote but candidates should be based in the Greater Toronto Area and available to attend occasional in-person meetings as required.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, development, delivery, and continuous improvement of internal learning and development programs
- Partner with business stakeholders to assess learning needs, define objectives, and recommend appropriate learning solutions
- Design, develop, and update learning materials including presentations, facilitator guides, workshops, webinars, e-learning content, videos, and supporting resources
- Manage learning projects from intake through implementation, including workback schedules, milestones, communications, and stakeholder alignment
- Coordinate with external vendors and training providers to support learning initiatives and content development
- Collaborate with internal teams to support onboarding, compliance learning, leadership development, employee development, and strategic learning projects
- Work closely with LMS and learning technology platforms to support program delivery, learner engagement, reporting, and administration
- Monitor learning program effectiveness through feedback, participation data, and business outcomes, providing recommendations for continuous improvement
- Support change management and adoption activities associated with learning programs and organizational initiatives
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, providing guidance on learning strategy, adult learning principles, and best practices
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Adult Education, Training, Instructional Design, Organizational Development, or Talent Development
- Demonstrated experience designing and delivering learning programs for internal employee audiences
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and learning engagement strategies
- Experience developing learning content including workshops, webinars, presentations, e-learning modules, videos, and facilitator materials
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively with leaders and subject matter experts across the organization
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, including timelines, dependencies, communications, and delivery milestones
- Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS); experience with Docebo or similar platforms is considered an asset
- Experience working with external vendors, consultants, and training partners
- Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and ambiguity
- Bilingual French/English is considered an asset
