Position Summary
Sun Life is seeking a Change Management Program Lead, AI Transformation (Contract) to help accelerate the successful adoption of AI-enabled capabilities, digital solutions, and new ways of working across the enterprise.
Reporting to the Director or AVP, AI Acceleration and Enablement, the successful candidate will partner with senior leaders, program teams, and stakeholders to drive awareness, readiness, engagement, and meaningful behaviour change in support of strategic AI initiatives. This individual will design and execute change strategies that not only build understanding of new capabilities but also ensure employees adopt new ways of working, embed AI into daily workflows, and realize measurable business value. This role is ideal for a change practitioner who can influence across a complex organization while operating confidently at both strategic and executional levels.
What will you do?
· Develop and execute change management and adoption strategies for AI, digital, and transformation initiatives.
· Lead stakeholder engagement, organizational readiness, and adoption activities across a portfolio of strategic initiatives.
· Partner with business and technology leaders to align on change impacts, risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
· Monitor readiness, adoption trends, stakeholder sentiment, and change saturation, recommending interventions where required.
· Establish success measures and reporting to evaluate adoption, engagement, and business outcomes. Be able to define adoption metrics, read usage and sentiment data, and adjust the change plan based on what the data shows.
· Support leadership teams with communications, engagement, and reinforcement strategies that drive sustained behavioural change.
· Develop executive updates, presentations, and materials that communicate progress, risks, and outcomes.
· Capture and share success stories, lessons learned, and best practices to strengthen enterprise adoption and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities & Requirements
1. 5+ years of experience in change management, organizational transformation, program management, learning and development, or a related field.
2. Experience leading change and adoption initiatives for AI, digital, technology, or transformation programs.
3. Strong understanding of stakeholder engagement, organizational readiness, adoption strategies, and change management practices, with the ability to drive behavior change at scale.
4. Systems thinking and structured problem solving skills, with the ability to break down ambiguous problems, identify the signal in the noise, and translate complexity into clear, actionable plans.
5. Working knowledge of modern IT delivery processes, AI agent ecosystems, and emerging enterprise AI technologies, with hands on comfort using AI tools to analyze data, summarize insights, automate workflows, and enhance change management deliverables.
6. Strong data analysis and insight generation capabilities, including interpreting quantitative and qualitative data, identifying trends, and using statistical findings to inform adoption strategies and transformation outcomes; practical experience with tools such as Excel, dashboards, usage analytics, and sentiment analysis platforms.

Nice to have:

2. Experience supporting AI, data, digital transformation, innovation or future-of-work initiatives
3. Experience in financial services, insurance, or other highly regulated industries
4. Experience developing executive communications and thought leadership content
5. Familiarity with employee engagement platforms, collaboration tools, and digital communications channels
6. Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset

A proactive, self starting change leader with strong stakeholder management skills and a bias for action. Someone who can build a comprehensive change management program, develop a roadmap, coordinate multiple workstreams, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
They must be comfortable diving deep into the organization, engaging with teams, and understanding the end to end IT transformation journey—including 40+ agencies—to create a cohesive enterprise change strategy.
