The Opportunity
In this role, you will shape how technical and service capabilities are developed across North America within a complex power grid environment. You will oversee the development and deployment of training programs that prepare field teams, engineers, and service professionals to support and maintain critical infrastructure. The work focuses on translating broader service and capability strategies into practical training solutions, building scalable learning programs, and ensuring teams are equipped to meet evolving operational and customer requirements. You will collaborate across service operations, engineering, and commercial teams to address workforce capability needs driven by technology advancements, digitalization, and lifecycle service demands. This includes strengthening technical expertise, supporting adoption of new tools, and building readiness for future grid challenges. Your work contributes directly to the reliability, safety, and performance of power systems by ensuring service teams are prepared to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes across the lifecycle of grid assets.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Translate training and capability strategy into regional programs aligned with service operations and workforce needs
- Develop and manage a training roadmap that supports service delivery, technical capability, and operational readiness
- Oversee development and delivery of technical, digital, and safety-focused training programs
- Partner with service, engineering, and commercial teams to identify capability gaps and prioritize learning initiatives
- Establish and maintain consistent training standards, certification approaches, and delivery methods
- Monitor program effectiveness using performance data and continuously improve learning outcomes
- Support the deployment of digital and blended learning solutions, including remote and hands-on training formats
- Build and support a network of trainers, instructors, and subject matter contributors across the organization
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your Background
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as engineering, business, or learning and development
- Experience in technical training, service operations, or workforce capability development within industrial or energy environments
- Experience designing and delivering structured training programs across multiple formats (in-person, virtual, or blended learning)
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in service, engineering, or project-based environments
- Experience supporting organizational change, capability development, or continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage stakeholders across technical and operational teams
