Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Professional Services - Psychology (Applied Behavior Analysis)
About the Role:
We are seeking a qualified Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to support the development, review, and alignment of a Master’s-level Psychology program with a concentration in ABA. The SME will ensure that the program meets Florida regulatory requirements, aligns with national certification standards, and adheres to best practices in graduate education, including on-ground and hybrid delivery models.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop curriculum, course descriptions, and syllabi for a Master’s program in Psychology with an ABA concentration
- Review and enhance program documentation to ensure academic rigor, clinical relevance, and compliance
- Align coursework with Florida licensure requirements and national certification standards
- Ensure curriculum meets standards established by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) and Verified Course Sequence (VCS) requirements
- Integrate supervised fieldwork, ethical training, and competency-based assessments
- Support development of accreditation-related materials and program evaluation processes
- Collaborate with curriculum specialists, instructional designers, and academic leadership
Qualifications:
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA®) certification in good standing
- Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a closely related field
- Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in ABA practice, supervision, and/or higher education
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum development or academic program design
- Strong knowledge of ABA domains, including behavior assessment, intervention, ethics, and supervision
- Experience with hybrid and/or online graduate-level instruction preferred
Regulatory & Accreditation Knowledge (Required):
- Knowledge of Behavior Analyst Certification Board requirements, including Verified Course Sequence (VCS) standards and supervised fieldwork requirements
- Understanding of licensure requirements through the Florida Behavior Analysis Certification Board for behavior analysts practicing in Florida
- Familiarity with graduate education standards and expectations for preparing students for BCBA® certification and state licensure
- Awareness of ethical and professional guidelines governing ABA practice
Preferred Skills:
- Experience developing or reviewing BACB-aligned or VCS-approved graduate programs
- Familiarity with accreditation or institutional approval processes (e.g., regional accreditation bodies)
- Experience establishing practicum/fieldwork partnerships and supervision models
- Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and instructional design best practices
