The role
Exam Master is hiring a Medical Content & Product Development Manager to help build, maintain, and improve high-quality medical education content used by health science programs and professionals nationwide. You’ll combine editorial rigor with product-minded thinking using exam standards, client feedback, and market research to guide what we develop next.
You’ll be successful in this role if you enjoy working with complex clinical information, care deeply about accuracy, and can translate insights into clear priorities and well-scoped content improvements.
What you’ll do
- Ensure medical content is accurate, current, and aligned with evolving clinical standards, certification guidelines, and board exam expectations
- Review, update, and QA, assessment content (including exam-style question banks, rationales, and explanations)
- Analyze certification requirements and exam blueprints to inform content strategy and build content outlines/blueprints mapped to exams
- Apply and enforce editorial standards, style guides (e.g., AMA), and publication policies
- Manage the end‑to‑end editorial process for medical and healthcare content, including planning, commissioning, editing, and publication
- Recruit, onboard, and collaborate with subject matter experts across medical and allied health disciplines
- Identify and pursue content licensing opportunities with external publishers
- Maintain internal content trackers to manage status, revisions, and SME/client feedback across multiple projects
- Conduct market and competitive research to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for new content and product development
- Collaborate with Client Services and Sales to align content priorities with user needs and business goals
- Participate in client meetings to gather feedback and translate insights into actionable improvements and new initiatives
- Contribute to the development of new products and content offerings
- Oversee editorial staff and day-to-day operations
- Preparing department and research reports
- Manage all aspects of our Admissions Exam
Qualifications
Must-haves
- 3+ years of experience in medical or educational publishing (preferred), or equivalent healthcare experience with demonstrated writing/editing accuracy
- Instructional design awareness: experience with eLearning/content tools (e.g., Articulate, Rise 360)
- Strong attention to detail and quality control with complex clinical information
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organization and time management; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Familiarity with assessment design (e.g., exam-style items, blueprints, learning objectives)
- Ability to work effectively across teams and incorporate stakeholder/client feedback
- Comfortable working in a remote, tech-enabled environment and learning new tools, databases, and systems quickly
- Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft Office and LMS platforms
