SCIMHA is hiring an IECMH Training Specialist to join our Workforce Development Team
This position will be focused on building the capacity of South Carolina’s child- and family-serving workforce sectors to promote infant and early childhood mental health (IECMH). The IECMH Training Specialist develops, coordinates, delivers, and evaluates high‑quality training experiences for cross sector professionals who serve infants, toddlers, young children (birth–5), and their families and caregivers.
The Training Specialist partners with cross‑sector partners (e.g., early intervention, home visiting, child welfare, early care and education, community health workers, etc.) to strengthen the IECMH service continuum and support workforce sustainability.
This position reports directly to SCIMHA’s Workforce Development Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, edit, and deliver dynamic, interactive IECMH training content applicable across workforce sectors to be presented live, asynchronously, or in hybrid format and aligned with IECMH Core Competencies
- Refine and ensure compliance with SCIMHA training protocols and Alliance for the Advancement of Infant Mental Health; lead creation of training pathways geared toward IECMH Endorsement requirements
- Lead, coordinate and facilitate IECMH Foundations Certificate training, Facilitating Attuned Interactions (FAN) training, Reflective Supervision Learning Collaborative trainings, and other content as needed for cross sector workforce
- Incorporate adult learning principles and strategies that support engagement and accessibility for diverse learning styles into all training environments
- Responsible for Learning Management System (LMS) content management including uploading course materials, updating existing modules, and maintaining an organized and up-to-date learning environment
- Define learning objectives, assessment strategies, and fidelity indicators; collect and analyze training feedback
- Align training outcomes with accreditation/credentialing requirements (CEUs, Endorsement systems) where applicable
- Lead quality control for SCIMHA trainings across the agency to ensure quality, compliance and consistent branding
- Collaborate across SCIMHA departments to develop communication materials that provide clear messaging on IECMH and the importance of caregiver relationships in early childhood
- Support creation, maintenance, and management of training database to track delivery of SCIMHA trainings
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Psychology, Early Childhood Development, Social Work, Special Education, Counseling or related field
- Minimum 2 years in leadership role that includes project management
- Minimum 2 years of relevant infant mental health practice
- Must have earned or be eligible for Endorsement for Culturally Sensitive, Relationship-Focused Practice Promoting Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health®
- Demonstrated experience designing, delivering, and facilitating dynamic professional‑facing training
- Demonstrated proficiency in Canva and Adobe Creative Suite; ability to produce on-brand graphics and training slides and videos independently with minimal direction
- Strong facilitation, communication, and adult learning skills; comfort with hybrid and virtual platforms (e.g., Zoom, LMS)
Preferred Qualifications
- South Carolina residency
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
- Experience with quality improvement and basic program evaluation (e.g., survey design, outcomes tracking)
- Prior work within community mental health, early intervention, home visiting, pediatrics, or child welfare settings
- Familiarity with evidence‑based IECMH interventions (e.g., Child‑Parent Psychotherapy, Attachment Biobehavioral Catch-up, Parent‑Child Interaction Therapy, Circle of Security, DC:0–5™ diagnostic framework)

Work Environment & Schedule
- Remote (prefer in-state in South Carolina)
- Travel: Requires some travel within South Carolina
- Equipment: Organization‑provided laptop; secure remote access; LMS and videoconferencing platforms
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $65,000–$75,000, commensurate with experience and credentials
