Reporting to the Manager, Organizational Development & Effectiveness, this role contributes to a forward-looking Organizational Development & Effectiveness portfolio focused on culture, performance, leadership development, team effectiveness, and employee wellbeing. As a Learning & Development Consultant you will lead the design and implementation of learning initiatives aligned to established organizational priorities, while stewarding role-based and required healthcare education and supporting effective use of our Learning Management System (LMS).
Description:
The role is responsible for conducting consultative learning needs assessments; leading and managing learning initiatives from analysis through implementation and sustainment; supporting the design, development, and delivery of learning solutions; facilitating learning experiences; applying strong instructional design methodology in the development of curriculum, courses, and digital learning assets; contributing to the development of blended and digital learning solutions; and ensuring alignment of learning initiatives with organizational values and operational priorities. The Consultant is accountable for evaluating learning effectiveness and impact by developing measurement strategies, analyzing participation, completion, and performance data, and making evidence-informed recommendations for continuous improvement. This role also collaborates with internal partners to ensure learning solutions are effectively delivered through the Learning Management System (LMS). The Consultant partners with stakeholders to define and maintain role-specific and required learning, monitors completion and compliance data to inform learning recommendations, and contributes to enhancing the learner experience through appropriate use of digital tools. The role contributes to effective use of learning systems and digital platforms. The Consultant contributes to the ongoing evolution of learning practices within the Organizational Development & Effectiveness portfolio, ensuring solutions are practical, measurable, and aligned with the healthcare context. Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required. Coursework, certification, or demonstrated professional development in adult learning is required. Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in learning and development, including experience designing and delivering competency-based and experiential learning programs. Demonstrated experience facilitating learning is required. Applicants must demonstrate strong knowledge of adult learning theory and its practical application, as well as the ability to work consultatively with stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify learning needs and implement appropriate solutions. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential. Demonstrated experience applying instructional design principles to develop structured learning programs is required.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Experience working within a Learning Management System (LMS) environment, including using reporting data to inform learning decisions and program effectiveness, is required. Candidates must have experience supporting role-specific, required, or compliance-based education, preferably within a healthcare or similar environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to interpret learning analytics and completion data to inform recommendations and continuous improvement efforts. Experience managing multiple learning initiatives within a complex, fast-paced organization is required. Experience using digital learning authoring and module development tools (e.g., Articulate, Vyond, or similar platforms) to design and develop e-learning content is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Formal coursework or certification in Instructional Design is considered an asset. Experience designing curriculum, blended learning pathways, or digital learning solutions is preferred. Experience working in a healthcare environment and familiarity with emerging learning technologies would be considered strong assets.
