The Professional Development Associate is responsible for providing general support to CPA Alberta’s professional development offerings, including conferences, executive programs and other learning activities. This role involves coordinating logistics, managing internal and external stakeholder relationships, and customer support. To excel in this role, the successful candidate will be articulate and thrive in a fast-paced environment, have excellent attention to detail, accuracy, technical proficiency, and adaptability. This role reports to the Manager, Executive Learning and Conferences.
CPA Alberta has offices in Edmonton and Calgary and provides hybrid Telecommuting opportunities (working from home a maximum of 3 days a week).

- Post-secondary Degree/Diploma in relevant discipline with 3 to 5 years directly related experience
- Familiarity with using Learning Management Systems and conference platforms is an asset
- Experience developing collaborative relationships
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and stay organized
- Ability to use sound judgement to identify and resolve problems as they arise
- Proficiency working with Microsoft Office software - including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
- Coordinate the logistics for virtual and in person events and programs
- Organize and implement the delivery of online learning within a Learning Management System (LMS)
- Work with instructors to coordinate educational materials and moderate online courses
- Maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including speakers and instructors
- Provide support to customers and respond to inquiries with efficiency and professionalism
- Support the implementation of communications for various programs and conferences
- Provide input into marketing the professional development programs with idea generation, sourcing support materials, and reviewing promotional content as required
