About the Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to own and shape Learning and Development outcomes across Canada within a dynamic industrial and manufacturing environment. As the Learning & Development Specialist, you will play a critical role in building workforce capability, strengthening operational performance, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement through structured, skills-based training.
Reporting to senior HR leadership and partnering closely with a global Learning and Development Centre of Excellence, you will translate enterprise learning strategies into impactful, localized solutions. Your work will directly support safety, quality, productivity, and leadership effectiveness across both hourly and salaried teams.

Your Responsibilities
- You’ll lead the implementation and sustainment of Training Within Industry (TWI) methodology across manufacturing operations.
- In this role, you’ll develop and standardize job instruction materials, job breakdowns, and skills-based training aids.
- You’ll design and deploy a Train-the-Trainer model, coaching supervisors and team leads on effective instruction and skill verification.
- You’ll build structured onboarding programs focused on safety, quality, and early productivity.
- You’ll develop skills matrices and workforce capability plans to support current and future operational needs.
- You’ll support leadership development programs for emerging, first-time, and senior leaders.
- You’ll maintain training records, certifications, and compliance readiness while driving continuous improvement.
Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive Learning & Development experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Psychology, Industrial Relations, or equivalent experience with an HR diploma
- Hands-on experience implementing TWI or structured job instruction programs
- Strong facilitation, coaching, and shop-floor presence
- Experience with skills matrices, job breakdowns, and workforce training frameworks
- Proficiency in MS Office, LMS experience is an asset
- Strong relationship-building, analytical, and organizational skills
