Learning and Development Specialist

This is a remote role which requires travel across England and Scotland
We’re looking for a Learning and Development Specialist to join our team and identify the learning and development needs of the business and individual employees. Your goal is to maximise employee potential and effectively respond to the needs of our clients.

What you’ll be doing as a Learning and Development Specialist:
Your role will include leading the creation and implementation of current and future L&D content, ensuring all training is timely, relevant, and delivered in the most appropriate format. You’ll stay up to date with new developments and trends in training and apply them, where relevant, to deliver optimum results and motivate and engage employees. The role includes delivering practical training, maintaining accurate records, and conducting regular site visits across Scotland and England to complete TNAs and observations.
You’ll also support internal and external audits to ensure compliance and competence, deputise for the Head of Learning and Development when required, and provide leadership to the L&D team through 1:1s, meetings, and talent reviews.
To be a successful Learning and Development Specialist you’ll have:
Essential:
- In date train the trainer qualifications in EFAW and Manual Handling and MHFA
- Lead train the trainer qualification in Oliver McGowan
- PTTLS, AET or equivalent training qualification
- 3 years plus training experience in social care/health care
- Experience in delivering condition specific training
- E-learning/online training experience
- Experience of course content creation
- Full understanding of the CQC framework and Skills for Care updates
- Experience of the Nourish platform and delivering the training
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal essential)
- Strong analytical skills; ability to scrutinise regional data to ensure compliance
- Line management experience
- Experience in coaching and mentoring
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Remain calm under pressure and work accurately to deadlines
- Strong organisational skills
- IT literate; able to use google suite, word, excel, laptop and tablet functions
Desirable:
- Apprenticeship coordination/understanding
- Have or be willing to work towards a digital learning apprenticeship
