What you'll do for CNIB Deafblind Community Services
In covering a broad range of duties, Manager, Training and Development performs moderately complex administrative work. The position entails, but is not limited to the following general responsibilities:
- Design, implement and oversee an intervenor training and mentorship program that is aligned with Deafblind Community Service’s goals and employee development needs.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute the delivery of the training programs, ensuring accessibility and effectiveness.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement strategies for learning and development processes.
- Conduct needs assessments to identify knowledge gaps and workforce development opportunities.
- Collaborate with the operational leaders to develop and tailor training materials, resources, and tools.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics - make improvements as needed.
- Manage the training budget, ensuring efficient use of resources for program development and implementation.
- Facilitate engaging training sessions, workshops, and one-on-one coaching to support employee growth.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices to enhance training content and delivery methods.

- Ability to assess, create and recommend solutions based on available metrics.

- Has latitude to make decisions that fall within the appropriate thresholds (i.e. budget, Policies and Procedures).

- Facilitates and enhances team efforts on a professional level and shares specialized knowledge, experience, concepts, and skills.
Who you are:
- Strong facilitation, coaching, and presentation skills with the ability to engage diverse learning styles.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with all levels of staff.
- Ability to communicate in alternate methods/languages such as sign language (visual and tactile), two hand manual, finger spelling and plain language is an asset.
- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of both standard office software and using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other training technology tools.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and monitor budgets and resources.
- Self-directed, organized, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage staff in remote and multiple locations.
- Familiarity with Deafblind services, accessibility considerations, and inclusive training practices is an asset.
We want to hear from you if you have:
- A diploma or bachelor’s degree in human resources, education, training and development, organizational development, or a related field with a certification in training/learning and development.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in training, learning and development, people management - preferably in non-profit, healthcare, or social services sector.
- Work experience in the field of Deafblindness.
- Knowledge in adult learning principles, instructional design, and competency-based training models with a passion for fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Preference given to those with experience working with a mobile workforce.
