We are seeking a Learning and Development Specialist for a part-time contingent role lasting approximately six months, with the possibility of extension based on project needs. The role averages 20 hours per week and offers flexibility; however, availability during standard business hours (Monday–Friday) is required.
This is a remote position, with a preference for candidates based in Vancouver, BC, who can attend occasional on-site meetings.
In this role, you will design, develop, and deliver engaging learning solutions that enhance employee capability and organizational performance. Working closely with subject matter experts, you will create impactful training content, manage learning platforms, and drive continuous improvement in the learner experience to support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop engaging learning materials and programs to support employee development.
- Manage, update, and deploy content within the Learning Management System (LMS) and SharePoint.
- Analyze learner needs to create targeted, effective training interventions.
- Troubleshoot and adjust learning content to ensure successful outcomes.
- Partner with HR, business leaders, and subject matter experts to gather content and align learning initiatives.
- Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies to develop impactful learning experiences.
- Review, edit, and enhance training materials for clarity and consistency.
- Facilitate virtual or in-person learning sessions as needed.
- Stay current on learning technology trends and recommend continuous improvements.
Qualifications
- Degree or certificate in Human Resources, Business Administration, Instructional Design, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Learning & Development, Instructional Design, or Talent Development.
- Proven experience with Articulate eLearning software and video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
- Familiarity with Workday Learning or other LMS platforms preferred.
- Experience in a corporate or manufacturing environment is an asset.
Skills And Competencies
- Strong knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Visio).
- Experience managing LMS content and maintaining SharePoint or MS Teams learning sites.
- Strong organization, time management, and project coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Pay Transparency:
The anticipated pay range for this contingent position is
CDN $35.00–$43.00 per hour. The final offer will depend on factors including experience, education, and location.
