Building Efficiency Resources (aka “BER”) is a national energy efficiency training and quality assurance organization. Our mission is to provide our clients with industry-leading technical and customer support, while maintaining the highest standards in our industry.
BER is seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in energy efficiency professional training for adult learners to serve as our lead national trainer. This individual will be expected to serve as the key individual in charge of developing and maintaining training curricula, as well as serve as a field trainer for classroom trainings.
This full-time position will require working primarily from a home office, in a virtual environment and requires the ability to work independently, prioritize work, stay focused, on task, and highly productive without direct supervision. The position will also require national travel up to 4 months per year.
Primary responsibilities:
- Delivering in-person classroom trainings on building science, energy efficiency, green building and related standards to adult learners.
- Delivering online live and on-demand training webinars and modules.
- Developing scripts and other training content and curricula, including presentation slides, training videos, course evaluations, quizzes, materials.
- Participating in the development and submission of proposals and applications for training RFPs and RFQS.
- Delivering seminar presentations at regional and national conferences and meetings.
Candidates shall possess the following minimum qualifications:
- 5+ years professional experience in energy efficiency industry (BPI, RESNET, energy code, IECC, weatherization, energy audits, etc)
- High degree of computer literacy, including fluency in MS Windows, Office, etc.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with developing and delivering energy efficiency training content to adults.
- Willingness and ability to work independently from home, as well as to travel to deliver trainings nationally.
Additional preferred qualifications:
- RESNET Certified Trainer, QAD, Rater, etc.
- BPI certifications (BA, EP, MF, HP, AC, EA, QCI, etc.)
- IECC Residential Inspector/Plans Examiner certification
- Residential and/or commercial construction background
- Residential energy modeling experience
- Professional experience in the field, conducting HERS ratings, energy code verification, existing home energy evaluations, etc.
- Commercial/industrial energy efficiency auditing experience
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
- Experience and proficiency with LMS and other content development tools.
