The Learning and Development Specialist builds and shapes our organization's learning culture. They develop and establish hands-on training programs, implement learning systems, and drive initiatives that support employee growth and organizational effectiveness. Working closely with leadership, this position will assess training needs, develop a skills framework, and design scalable learning solutions to enhance workforce development and performance.
Duties and Responsibilites:
- Develop and execute a company-wide learning and development strategy aligned with business goals
- Partner with leadership and key stakeholders to identify training needs and skills gaps
- Establish L&D best practices and frameworks for a structured training function
- Design, develop, and deliver training programs, workshops, and e-learning courses
- Create engaging content using instructional design principles, ensuring a mix of interactive and practical learning experiences
- Develop a competency-based skills matrix to guide employee development and career progression
- Implement evaluation methods to measure training effectiveness and ROI
- Research, select, and implement a Learning Management System (LMS) to serve as the foundation for training delivery and tracking
- Develop processes for content management, user access, and system administration
- Ensure seamless integration with other HR and business systems
- Champion a culture of continuous learning and professional development across the organization
- Gain buy-in from leadership and employees by communicating the value of training programs
- Establish policies and processes to support structured learning initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field
- Proven experience designing and implementing training programs from scratch
- Experience with LMS selection and implementation in a company with no existing system
- Ability to develop a skills matrix and competency frameworks
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- 5+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Training, or Organizational Development
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience partnering with leadership teams
- Strong knowledge of instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and e-learning methodologies
Benefits
The starting pay range for this position is $84,800 to $101,700 per year however, the base pay offered may vary depending on the level of the position, skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.
